In the most recent edition of the ESPN rankings, Blair was ranked seventh in the country, but that was before star guard Dominique Darius headed West. Darius, a 2021 UCLA commit, decided to enroll early and joined the Bruins’ active roster.
While this leaves a big hole in the Blair lineup, this is an eye-popping move by Darius. The 5-10 senior guard, who is ranked in the top 30 nationally, has finished all of her high school requirements. It will be interesting to see how much time she gets this season at UCLA.
Speaking of Blair, sophomore Jaylin Hartman Jaylin Hartman 6'2" | SF Blair | 2023 State NJ , who figures to play a bigger role with Darius’ departure, recently changed AAU teams. Hartman is taking her talents up north, leaving the Philadelphia Belles for the New York-based Exodus program.
Books and Basketball Academy has merged with Team Final, which is one of the top EYBL programs on the boys side. Will unhappy players leave their current situations and head to South Jersey to play for the newly formed Team Finals Girls (U10 to U17)?
Tyonna Bailey Tyonna Bailey 5'10" | CG Montclair Immaculate | 2023 State NJ , who is one of the most-recruited sophomores in the state, is the first big-name player to join Team Final. The wing, who played for Exodus 16U last summer, will suit up with the Team Final 17s in the spring.
Trenton Catholic shooting guard Iris Azcona surprised a lot of people when she recently gave her commitment to Butler University. The 5-9 junior has been working extremely hard this offseason on her all-around game and conditioning and is expected to have a big season for TCA.
