She sits low, has active hands that are always ready for picking pockets, and she sticks to her opponents like the slogan for Gorilla glue- “Incredibly Strong, 100% Tough!” Her focus is to completely throw off the opponents offense by not giving an ounce of breathing room for anyone with the ball. Shooting is not a problem for her from mid- range to 3’s, and with her quickness, has no problem taking it to the hoop. (Featured Photo, #4)
Emily Hollar Emily Hollar 5'7" | CG West Liberty Salem | 2022 OH – 5’5, G, 2022, West Liberty Salem: Very impressed with how she runs the offense. She knows when to push the ball on transition, as well as when to slow down and set up offensive plays. Has a natural instinct on balancing the floor, can hurt opponents going left or right, and creates easy shots for her teammates. Excellent handles, and pressure defense doesn’t phase her. Her quickness allows her to play strong defense, with active hands and feet. Averaging 8.7 ppg, 3.5 ast, and 3.3 stl. Her poise and leadership she demonstrates makes her very valuable.
Selena Weaver- 5’11, C, 2021, West Liberty Salem: Weaver is athletic, long, and strong inside the paint. This post player can run the floor very well, finish at the rim with either hand, and has excellent footwork on the block. She’s in the top 4 in her conference, in both scoring (15.8), rebounding (9.9), and field goal percentage (54.9%). She is difficult to guard, and uses her body and athleticism so well to gain position for easy points. Uses the backboard well, has great hands, and capable of drawing contact and getting to the foul line. Very good player, and fun to watch!
Leigha Dennison- SG, 2023, Hilliard Bradley: This is a young lady that needs to be on college coaches radar- she has a lot of potential, and keeps getting better and better! She’s got length, speed, and knows where to be on the court. Dennison is very strong on transition, and with her speed, beats opponents for easy lay-ups. Can shoot from outside, and hurt opponents in the lane. Defensively, she is solid. She’s a scorer, and proves to make smart decisions.
Bri O’Connor- 5’8, PG/SG, 2021, Hilliard Davidson: Tiffin University is going to love having O’Connor! She can flat out play, and is an offensive machine. Very strong three point shooter, can nail them from anywhere! Beautiful job in beating her defenders to the basket, makes penetrating to the basket look easy. Her hands are always ready to catch the ball and shoot. Her defensive game is just as strong. Very strong player, with high basketball IQ.
