Each one of the players competes in the Independent Conference. These are players that often aren’t as talked about as they don’t compete in a traditional conference- however these squads are packed with talented players that should be talked about. Check out these prospects that compete in Independent Conference’s and have been impressive in their own right so far this season.
Lalani Ellis Lalani Ellis 5'7" | PG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2023 State WI | Milwaukee Academy of Science | 5’7 Sophomore
The sophomore is incredibly talented and puts on a show each time she is on the floor. After an impressive freshman season, all eyes are on Ellis as she looks to make even more noise this season. She is putting up HUGE numbers. Ellis is averaging 24.3 points per game and finished with 41 points in a two point loss against St. Mary Catholic. She is currently receiving interest from Milwaukee and Depaul.
Sara Lewis | Milwaukee Academy of Science | 5’7 Junior
The junior might be the most improved this season as she seems to have added so much to her game on both ends. A two way athlete who can play a lot of minutes for this team, Lewis is essential to making the offense work. A floor general with tremendous court awareness and off ball movement, Lewis is averaging 10 points per game. She’s added some speed to her defense as well and is often guarding the opposing team’s best player. She does well deflecting passes and recovering quickly.
Grace Vande Hey | Stockbridge | 5’8 Senior
The Stockbridge has a well developed shot with a patient and smooth release. She keeps the ball high and does well knocking it down off the pass. She has great movement on the floor to get herself open and finds her shooting spots easily. She’s added more fundamentals to her game this season and has been attacking from the perimeter at a high level. She is averaging 11 points per game. In a win over Lena, the senior finished with a season-high 24 points.
Madelyn LeGault | Stockbridge | 5’8 Senior
The senior has been essential to her team’s success this season. In the teams last 5 game winning streak, LeGault has been a major contributor on the offensive end. Her ability to score the basketball in transition is impressive. She’s a fast paced guard who is impressive at changing speed and direction when attacking the rim. She is averaging 20.4 points per game. In a win over St. Thomas Aquinas, LeGault finished with 23 points for Stockbridge.
Beautiful Waheed Beautiful Waheed 5'9" | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2023 State WI | Milwaukee Academy of Science | 5’6 Sophomore
An extremely gifted athlete with a scorers mentality, Waheed can easily go off on the scoreboard any given night. She has elite handles and often finishes coast to coast. This season she is averaging 14 points per game. She’s improved her three point shot this season and has had more confidence shooting from deep. Defensively she is a standout with quick footwork and ability to guard the full length of the court at a very high level.
Katelin Kramp | Stockbridge | 6’1 Sophomore
A powerful center with so much upside, Kramp has really found her role on this squad. She’s a traditional post scorer and gets open well in transition. She is averaging 10.5 points per game. In a win over Florence, Kramp finished with a season-high 15 points. She’s a dominant presence who is intimidating in the lane. Her presence and high hands cause opponents to settle for the perimeter basket. She’s an elite rebounder and does extremely well sealer her player and grabbing loose balls. Her offensive rebounds are impressive as well, she keeps the ball high and does not shy away from contact. She is averaging nearly 8 rebounds per game.
Nakiyah Hurst Nakiyah Hurst 6'0" | PF Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2022 State WI | Milwaukee Academy of Science | 6’0 Junior
The junior is incredibly talented with a high ceiling for the next level. She’s a tough and dominant post player who can step outside and handle the ball as well. She’s talented off the dribble and can create a game for herself. She’s lethal on the perimeter as well- she knocks it down with consistency. She’s tough enough to go head to head against taller post players and draw the foul or finish with force. Hurst oozes with confidence on the floor and can easily take off on the stat sheet. This season she is averaging 9 points per game. She currently holds offers from DePaul, Milwaukee, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, Seton Hall, Tennessee State and Vanderilt.
