Rebounders Making Noise <img class="size-medium wp-image-196517 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/08/2020-08-21159802401441911_33_34.419-Graphic-300x188.png" alt="Top Rebounders" width="300" height="188" /> Below are a few upperclassmen who are making noise by their ability to consistently rebound the basketball on both ends. [player_tooltip player_id="132354" first="Morgann" last="Gardner"] | Racine Lutheran | 6’1 F Gardner has already proven to be a beast in the paint on both ends and this season she has shown tremendous strength in the lane. Her ability to hold off her opponent is exceptional. She is also an offensive rebounding specialist- she is averaging nearly 28 points per game for her team. Her rebounding skills are elite as well- she is averaging 17 rebounds per game in her first few games of her senior season. In two separate wins so far the senior standout grabbed 18 rebounds for her team. Laurissa Pickel | Weston | 5’8 G An impact player all across the board, Pickel is a high intensity guard who gets after the ball at every level. She is not afraid of contact and has done so well against taller defenders in the lane. She really does it all for her Weston team and doesn’t shy away from chasing down loose balls either. She is averaging 15 rebounds per game for her team. In a close game against Wonewoc- Center, Pickel grabbed 23 boards. Taylor Thiry | Luxemburg- Casco | 5’10 F | The two way forward is putting up big numbers this season for her squad. While averaging nearly 19 points per game, Thiry showed how effective she is on the glass in more ways than one. Thiry’s ability to keep the ball high on the glass after an offensive rebound is very impressive. She is averaging 15 rebounds per game and has grabbed more offensive rebounds than defensive this season, proving her intensity on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="132375" first="Grace" last="Schmidt"] | Watertown Luther Prep | 6’1 F | Schmidt has been incredible this season as expected. A highly talented post player who gets after it in the paint each night. In her first few games as a junior she is averaging 29 points per game. An offensive threat for her team, Schmidt is just as effective on the defensive end. She is averaging nearly 14 rebounds per game. In a win over Mayville, the junior grabbed 17 boards for her team. [player_tooltip player_id="202239" first="Ziy" last="Conner"] | Independence | 6’0 F <img class=" wp-image-197789 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/08/Ziy-Conner-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="148" /> Conner is a gifted athlete who thrives in transition play but is so impactful as a defender. The senior utilizes her size so well inside the paint as well as on the perimeter. Conner can and will guard any player on the floor despite their size. This season while averaging 27 points per game she is averaging 13 rebounds per game. In a win over New Lisbon, Conner finished with 16 boards, 7 of which were offensive.
