Unsigned Seniors: DMV Style
There is still plenty of unsigned talent in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area and I will be spotlighting some of the best ones in the coming weeks as we navigate our way through what will be a weird and abbreviated high school season. Here is my first five.
Sanaya Gray, 2021 Guard, Western
One of my favorite guards in the area. She looks like she is all the way back from a shoulder injury. She is a speedy combo guard that brings toughness every game. At 5’7″ she has decent size and a nice perimeter game. She can facilitate or play off the ball and will lock up on defense. Very skilled player who can play at the next level right away.
Aniya Hills, 2021 Center, Coppin Academy
Aniya is a legit 6’2″ and has a nice touch around the basket. She is comfortable stepping out for mid range jumpers and rebounds well. She is a good post and help defender.
Chanelle Lee, 2021 Guard, Frederick
Chanelle is a tough and athletic guard with a non-stop motor. She never takes a play off and makes a ton of hustle plays every game. She can handle some ball handling duties but is better suited for the shooting guard position.
Olivia Harris, 2021 Wing, John Carroll
Olivia is a 5’10” wing/shooting guard with an impressive wing span and college ready body. She is especially effective in the paint and with mid range shots. She is a good rebounder and is excellent in transition. She uses her size well on defense and has good footwork.
Jocelyn Fogel, 5’10″, Power Forward, Hammond
Jocelyn will be returning for her season at Hammond High. Jocelyn is an aggressive player that can move bodies around in the paint. She is very quick for her size and passes very well. Smart player that makes a lot of hustle plays. Good touch on her shot and she can knock down three pointers. She will make an immediate impact at the next level.
