Below is a list of players who are making noise and proving that their stocks are rising soon into the season. Each of these prospects have shown glimpses of how elite they will be the rest of the season and beyond. This list consists of prospects in the following conference’s.
Woodland- West Conference: New Berlin Eisenhower, Pewaukee, New Berlin West, Pius XI Catholic, Wisconsin Lutheran, Greendale, West Allis Central.
Woodland- East Conference: South Milwaukee, Greenfield, Milwaukee Lutheran, Shorewood, Brown Deer, Cudahy, Whitnall.
Jamera Bean | Milwaukee Lutheran | 5’3 Senior
The senior’s stock continues to rise and she is one of the top uncommitted guards in the state right now. She continues to show how elite she can be on the offensive end. Bean plays with so much swag and confidence on the floor- having her as a lead guard simply makes the team flow better. She has a great feel for the game and can score off the dribble, pass or knock down the open three pointer. Her ability to change direction and speed makes her difficult to defend. Bean is averaging 12 points per game. In a win over Shorewood, Bean finished with 17 points.
Natalie Veidins | Greenfield | 5’5 Sophomore
The sophomore has made some amazing improvement this season on both ends of the floor. Her confidence is high and her feel for the game is clearly rising. She understands her positioning on the floor and doesn’t force anything within the offense. She’s done well getting herself open and knocks down shots with consistency. She is averaging 7 points per game this season. Veidins is a key defender for this team as well- she just does all the little things right that are essential for team chemistry and success. She communicates to her teammates and has good passing ability to her post players inside. She is averaging nearly 2.5 assists per game.
Trishena Brown Trishena Brown 5'9" | CG West Allis Central | 2023 State WI | West Allis Central | 5’7 Sophomore
Brown has had such an impressive first few games of her sophomore season. A guard with a scoring mentality, Brown has so many finish moves in her bag. She is leading the Woodland- West in scoring with nearly 24 points per game. Her ability to attack off the dribble is unmatched. She’s so difficult to stop when she is going downhill and has well developed handles to stay efficient against pressure defenders. In a win over Catholic Central, Brown finished with 31 points.
Jazzmine Smith | Wisconsin Lutheran | 5’8 Freshman
Smith has done a tremendous job in her first games at the Varsity level. She’s stepped right in and been so comfortable being able to score the basketball and impact on both ends. Offensively, Smith is a complete stock riser. She’s shown glimpses of being able to score at all three levels and has already put up some huge numbers this season. In a win over West Allis Central, Smith finished with 23 points.
Dakota Doolin | Cudahy | 5’9 Junior
The junior has had to step up to be a dominant two-way post player for this team. In the first three games Doolin has been able to find her way on the offensive end and also make some key stops on defense. She uses her body well to shield her defender and seal open in the lane- she finished with 16 points against Milwaukee Lutheran doing that move along with grabbing multiple offensive rebounds. She’s quick enough to grab long boards and has the agility to be a difference maker in transition play.
Meghan Schultz Meghan Schultz 6'4" | C New Berlin West | 2023 State WI | New Berlin West | 6’4 Sophomore
With all eyes on Schultz, she still finds ways to improve her game each night. She utilizes her size so well inside and has been dominant for this squad. At 6’4, Schultz could easily rely solely on her height- but she does just the opposite. She has movement on the floor and ability to get herself and her teammates open within an offense. She can knock down the jumper and is confident being strong with the ball on the perimeter. She is averaging 16 points per game. In a win over West Allis Central, Schultz finished with 24 points and shot 71% from the floor. Schultz is an impressive defender as well- her feel for the game is there and her stock continues to rise and she takes more risks and develops her shot blocking ability.
Sarah Newcomer Sarah Newcomer 5'8" | CG Pewaukee | 2022 State WI | Pewaukee | 5’9 Junior
The combo guard is an essential part of this Pewaukee squad. She is averaging 12 points per game and is a tremendous athlete. In a win over New Berlin Eisenhower, Newcomer finished with 21 points. She’s added range to her game and been able to consistently knock down the perimeter basket. She’s a great passer too and has done an excellent job finding her teammates in transition so far this season. She’s also done well dishing to her post players inside.
Allie Spaltholz | South Milwaukee | 5’10 Junior
The junior is a key player on this team and has such an impressive real and perimeter shot. She doesn’t force anything on offense but can easily be a spark plug for this team. She’s shown growth in her ability to attack off the dribble- with her size, it’s been difficult for other teams to stop her going downhill. Her movement without the ball and ability to get herself open are impressive. She is averaging nearly 10 points per game. In a win over Whitnall, Spaltholz finished with 11 points.
Paige Mukahirn | Whitnall | 5’7 Senior
The senior has had to play a much bigger role this season and has been doing well. She’s a versatile player who has athleticism and energy on the floor. She clearly has a great motor as well as the senior see’s a lot of minutes for this team. She is averaging 7.5 points per game this season. In a loss against South Milwaukee, Mukahirn finished with 10 points.
Addison Glapinski | West Allis Central | 5’3 Junior
Glapinsk is a stock rising guard as she has improved so much of her game. Her athleticism and speed on the floor are impressive. She’s a true point guard with incredible vision and decision making. She is averaging 8 points per game. In a win over Catholic Central, Glapinski finished with 21 points.
Brooklyn Ragland | Brown Deer | 5’5 Senior
The junior has stepped up to play some big minutes for Brown Deer this season. She is averaging 11 points per game in the teams first four games this season. She’s consistently put up double digits and proven how impactful she can be on the offensive end. The ceiling is high for this kid and these points seemed effortless and that she could easily take off for much more any given night. Her post passing is impressive- she works well with one of the state’s top post players Jordana Reisma Jordana Reisma 6'2" | SF Brown Deer | 2022 State WI . Ragland is a floor general that can score off the dribble or find per teammate on a dime.
