Transfers will be automatically eligible for competition this season due to the pandemic, rather than sit for 30 days due to the state’s transfer rules. Let’s take a look at nine impact transfers heading into the new season.
Anisha Able: Able joins Hudson Catholic after time at Barringer. As a sophomore at Barringer, she had 16 double-doubles. Able averaged 14.5 points per game and 18.3 rebounds per game with some incredible numbers all season. She also had 115 blocks and added four triple-doubles. Some memorable performances included Irvington (23 points, 14 rebounds, 8 steals), West Side (19 points, 18 rebounds), West Side (16 points, 24 rebounds, 10 blocks, 9 steals), Golda Och (24 points, 25 rebounds), Newark Central (10 points, 24 rebounds, 12 blocks), Orange (12 points, 20 rebounds, 11 blocks), Irvington (16 points, 25 blocks, 7 blocks), Newark Collegiate (20 points, 25 rebounds, 5 blocks), West Side (25 points, 26 rebounds) and Golda Och (23 points, 25 rebounds). A top post presence, Able should be a wonderful addition to a strong Hudson Catholic team.
Aaryn Battle Aaryn Battle 5'8" | SF Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ : Battle heads to Camden Catholic after playing her freshman year at Clearview. The sophomore averaged 11.9 points per game, reaching double figures 17 times. She put in a season-high 24 points against Sterling. Battle also had 174 rebounds on the season.
Lucy Alberici: Alberici takes her talents to Red Bank Catholic following three years at Raritan. She was extremely effective last season, averaging 15.3 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game. The senior and Stevens Institute of Technology commit made 81 free throws and had 12 double-doubles. She had 33 points against Metuchen last season. Alberici joins an RBC group with Division I talent across the roster and some strong potential this season.
Veyoni Davis Veyoni Davis 5'8" | CG Moorestown | 2024 PA : Davis was a top sophomore for Moorestown Friends last season. She’s now heading to Paul VI. The junior averaged 20 points per game at Moorestown Friends last year, hitting double figures in every game but one that she played in. She dropped 35 points against Friends Central (Pa.). She averaged 4.5 rebounds per game, hit 43 3-pointers and made 73 free throws. Davis will join a Paul VI team that won 24 games last season and features a top sophomore in Hannah Hidalgo Hannah Hidalgo 5'7" | PG Paul VI | 2023 State NJ .
Kye Joseph: Joseph moves from Barnegat to Donovan Catholic. The junior averaged 18.3 points per game for Barnegat a season ago. She got to the foul line quite a bit and made 102 free throws. Joseph averaged 10.6 rebounds per game and totaled 13 double-doubles. Joseph went for 39 points and 12 rebounds against Donovan Catholic last season and 32 points and 11 rebounds against Toms River South.
Kattie Ledden: The rich get richer in Somerset County, as Ledden heads to Rutgers Prep from Johnson. The sophomore put up some solid numbers at Johnson, finishing with 12.3 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. She also had 69 blocks on the season, including 10 against Summit on the way to a triple-double. Ledden also had six double-doubles for Johnson. She’ll be a great asset to legendary Rutgers Prep head coach Mary Klinger and a loaded roster once again, featuring one of the top players in the state and Villanova commit Christina Dalce Christina Dalce 6'2" | SF Rutgers Prep | 2021 State NJ .
Lexi Linton: Linton heads to Jackson Memorial from Rancocas Valley for her senior season. A Kent State commit, Linton should boost a Jackson Memorial group that went 23-4 last season. She averaged 14.9 points per game last season for Rancocas Valley, putting in 20 or more points six times.
Paulina Paris: Paris heads to state power Saddle River Day from Albertus Magnus of New York. A four-star recruit by ESPN, Paris, a junior, is a highly touted prospect who is down to eight schools – UCLA, NC State, Northwestern, West Virginia, Penn State, Rutgers, Yale and UConn. She announced her decision to transfer over the summer. As a sophomore at Albertus Magnus, Paris averaged 25 points and seven rebounds per game, and she was named Rockland Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Kassidy Thompson Kassidy Thompson 5'9" | SG Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ : Thompson is the newest member of Camden Catholic after a solid freshman campaign with Clearview. She averaged 12.4 points per game in her freshman year. Along with Battle, Thompson is a capable scorer who should help Camden Catholic. She finished in double figures 19 times last season at Clearview, including four games of 20 or more points.
