Ashleigh Battle Ashleigh Battle 5'2" | PG Blanche Ely | 2023 State FL – Cardinal Gibbons
2023 Ashleigh Battle Ashleigh Battle 5'2" | PG Blanche Ely | 2023 State FL spearheaded the Chiefs to a 65-32 victory over Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday night. The 5-foot point guard showed excellent passing skills, particularly when Cardinal Gibbons got out in transition. Moreover, Battle handled the ball well and did not commit turnovers. While she scored just two points, her contributions to the flow of the offense are paramount. Battle is a floor leader that will limit her opponent into capitalizing on unforced errors.
Athaliah Brown Athaliah Brown CG Fort Lauderdale HS | 2021 State FL – Fort Lauderdale
2021 Athaliah Brown Athaliah Brown CG Fort Lauderdale HS | 2021 State FL received the highest team grade in the loss to Cardinal Gibbons. The 5-foot-7 point guard scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Lady L’s on 50 percent shooting from the field. Brown seemed to play better in the second half and excelled getting into the lane. She leads the team averaging 25.5 points and 5.3 rebounds through four recorded games.
Sharale McCormick Sharale McCormick 5'10" | SG Cardinal Gibbons | 2021 State FL /Chloe Cellar – Cardinal Gibbons
2021 Sharale McCormick Sharale McCormick 5'10" | SG Cardinal Gibbons | 2021 State FL and 2022 Chloe Cellar split the reward for the highest grade against the Flying L’s. The captain pair combined to score 36 of the Chiefs 65 points. The 5-foot-10 McCormick plays like a true wing and can score on all three levels. Her length and athleticism on both ends gives her an advantage over most defenders. The 5-foot-9 Cellar is a strong shooting guard that can stretch the floor or score inside around the rim. Cellar knocked down a corner 3-pointer for her first bucket that helped Gibbons jump out on Fort Lauderdale.
Checorey Bouie Checorey Bouie 5'11" | PF Cardinal Newman | 2023 State FL – Cardinal Newman
2023 Checorey Bouie Checorey Bouie 5'11" | PF Cardinal Newman | 2023 State FL is ranked 39th in our class rankings and 7th overall as a power forward. The 5-foot-11 Bouie has certainly lived up to it for the Crusaders. She is coming off back-to-back 17-rebound efforts against Archbishop McCarthy and Benjamin. Moreover, 13 of those 34 boards came on the offensive end. Bouie has scored in double-figures in three straight games, shooting 18-of-32 from the field in that span. She is averaging 10.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game on the season.
Deborrah Seitu-Redmon Deborrah Seitu-Redmon 5'8" | CG Palm Beach Lakes | 2021 State FL – Palm Beach Lakes
2021 Benjamin School transfer Deborrah Seitu-Redmon Deborrah Seitu-Redmon 5'8" | CG Palm Beach Lakes | 2021 State FL has played well for the Rams. The 5-foot-8 guard is averaging 15.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game on 56 percent shooting from the field. Moreover, Redmon has recorded four or more steals in four games. Along with FIU commit Zaida Gonzalez, Palm Beach Lakes has a nice 1-2 scoring punch with her in the fold. More importantly, the Lions stand undefeated at 8-0 behind them.
Kathryn Serra – Ransom Everglades
As of today, 2023 Kathryn Serra is your top rebounder in South Florida. The 5-foot-9 guard/forward is averaging 15.8 rebounds per game, good for fourth overall in the Sunshine State. Against Mater Academy Charter, Serra scored 18 points and grabbed 21 rebounds. Her season-high on the glass is a whopping 31 boards against Florida Christian. Serra is also averaging just over six steals per game, good for 15th overall in Florida.
Jaiyah Harris-Smith Jaiyah Harris-Smith 5'7" | PG Norland | 2021 State FL – Miami Norland
2021 Jaiyah Harris-Smith Jaiyah Harris-Smith 5'7" | PG Norland | 2021 State FL leads all of South Florida in assists, averaging 7.4 per game. The 5-foot-5 guard recently recorded 15 dimes against Somerset Academy Silver Palms. Her average places her 5th overall in the state.
