<p class="p1">Here is some information regarding the top scorers in the SoMeck 7 conference.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>It should be noted that seniors [player_tooltip player_id="201028" first="Nyla" last="McGill"] (Providence, Yale commit) and [player_tooltip player_id="216562" first="Lucy" last="Vanderbeck"] (Ardrey Kell, Case Western Reserve University commit) are also leading the SoMeck 7 conference in points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>This article is focusing on uncommitted athletes.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="158279" first="Aniyah" last="Scales"]</b> (Olympic, G, 2023) is averaging 16 points a game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a little bit of everything because she also found herself on the lists for the leaders in assists.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is someone who can score at all levels showing off her shot from behind the arc and driving the ball inside.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a great job grabbing steals and taking them to the other end of the court for fast break opportunities.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can handle the ball well weaving in and out of her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a great job following shots and grabbing rebounds to help her team.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Maleigha Jackson</b> (Phillip O. Berry Academy, SF/C, 2022) is scoring over 11 points a game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has shown that she is not scared of going up against any kind of contact close to the basket driving the ball and even scoring off of passes as she finds the gaps in the defense.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>On defense, she knows how to create blocks for her team.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is almost reaching double digits with her rebounds each game, and I have very little doubt she will be able to consistently reach that number once basketball resumes.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Nichole Hunter </b>(Ardrey Kell, PG, 2021) is averaging over 11 points a game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is also averaging about 5 steals a game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>These steals are quickly converted to points for her team whether she is pushing the ball up the court herself, or she is finding open teammates making a fast break.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a great job controlling the tempo of the game pushing the ball up the court or slowing down to set up a play when necessary.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has decided to go to Drexel University to continue her academic career.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Anastasia Sinclair</b> (South Mecklenburg, G, 2023) is averaging over 11 points as well. Over 3 games, she has 14 steals.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She drives through contact and makes sure she has her way to the basket. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is aggressive on defense, too, which is how she grabs steals and immediately pushes them up the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She handles the ball well for her team, and she is available on fast breaks even when she isn’t the one pushing the ball.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is fast with the ball blowing by her opponents who are trying to slow her down on offense.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a great job drawing the defense to her in order to pass to her teammates.</p>
