Thursday’s set of games saw more great performances and matchups, including a top-20 battle between University and Montclair Immaculate. Let’s take a look at the winners from an action-packed Thursday around New Jersey.
<strong>University: </strong>University, the sixth-ranked team in the state, edged No. 17 Montclair Immaculate, 61-58, behind some key 3-pointers from Kamrin Babbs, who finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="134624" first="Tara" last="Johnson"] finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds for University. She also had six steals. In addition, Sidney Williams chipped in 15 points and five rebounds and Alyssa Rodriguez scored 14 points. Montclair Immaculate had a lead heading into the fourth quarter.
<strong>Kylie Bradford, Rancocas Valley: </strong>Bradford recorded a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Rancocas Valley past Winslow, 38-35. She had a block and had seven points come from free throws.
<strong>Brienna Pangborn, Lenape Valley: </strong>Pangborn recorded 21 points, nine rebounds and three steals in Lenape Valley’s 53-31 win over Vernon.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="155444" first="Brynn" last="McCurry"], Sparta: </strong>McCurry was sensational for Sparta is an impressive 55-43 win over Montville on Thursday. She had 25 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for Sparta, which saw 10 points from Bailey Chapman and 12 rebounds from Alexa Acker. [player_tooltip player_id="155551" first="Bella" last="Vito"] led Montville with 18 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="155443" first="Alexis" last="Davis"], Glassboro: </strong>Davis was sensational for Glassboro Thursday, going for 32 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks in a 53-27 win over Overbrook. It was the sophomore’s second straight eye-opening performance, as she had 36 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks and six steals against Pitman on Tuesday.
<strong>Olivia Sims, Iselin Kennedy: </strong>Sims led Iselin Kennedy to a 2-0 record and 51-40 victory over Sayreville on Thursday, finishing with 17 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.
<strong>Ghelsey Go/[player_tooltip player_id="159099" first="Tori" last="Fisher"], Edison/Piscataway: </strong>Go and Fisher led their respective teams when Edison and Piscataway met on Thursday, with Edison escaping with a 60-59 victory. Go put in 31 points for Edison, connecting on 10 free throws. Fisher finished with 30 points for Piscataway.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="159088" first="Grace" last="Soltes"], West Morris Central: </strong>Soltes had a great night for the Wolfpack in its 63-28 win over Hackettstown, as she totaled 21 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
<strong>Samantha Jones, Vineland: </strong>Jones put in 30 points to go with 10 steals, seven assists and six rebounds for Vineland in its 58-10 win over Buena on Thursday. Skylar Fowlkes added 10 points, 19 rebounds and six steals.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134607" first="Destiny" last="Adams"], Manchester Township: </strong>Adams continued her dominance early this season with 30 points, 21 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals in Manchester Township’s 64-38 victory over Jackson Liberty. The UNC commit is averaging 28.5 points and 18.5 rebounds through two games.
