Raines defeats Ribault Gateway Conference Championship
After trailing by as much as 17 points in the 2nd half, Raines outscored Ribault 32-12 to close the game and come away with a 55-52 win and their second consecutive Gateway Conference Championship.

Riverview Sarasota Has its Eyes in Lakeland
After going 12-14 last season in Coach Gerald Perry first year, Riverview Sarasota is 17-1 heading into the playoffs after winning their first 14 games to start the season. Their lone loss was a tough 47-45 loss to Lakewood Ranch two weeks ago in overtime.
The team’s motto is DEBO – Defensive Energy Brings Offense and they have been doing that to opponents all season holding teams to an impressive 34 points a game while scoring an average of 57 for a 22-point margin.
5’3 Point guard Nicole Blanch transferred in from Philadelphia and is leading the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game while shooting 57% from 3-point range on the season averaging close to two made 3-pointers per game. 5’11 Junior Forward Caroline King is averaging 12 points and 6 rebounds per game after missing all of last season due to injury.
Rounding out the starting five, the Rams rely on Alexis Randall, Junior shooting guard Myah Hagan plays off and shooting guard, and Sophomore Jaylah Wilson. They bring toughness, defense and solid outside shooting to give the squad a balanced attack. The team has its sights on extending the season as long as possible and it starts with a tough matchup against 15-5 Riverview this Wednesday night!
