Florida has become an epicenter of prep school basketball by attracting high-level talent from across the country and around the world. The Sunshine State is home to some of the nation's most prominent programs which makes the prep school landscape an important part of the recruiting and development picture in the state. As we look ahead to 2026-27, here is a team-by-team look at the new faces joining these programs and the key pieces returning for our nationally recognized and established programs.   DME Academy - Reigning Chipotle National Champions (25-4 last season)   DME Academy enters the 2026-27 season looking to defend its national championship after putting together a historic run last season. The reigning Chipotle National Champions will have some major holes to fill after losing several key pieces, but DME still brings back a strong core led by [player_tooltip player_id='443349' first='Timani' last='Harris'], [player_tooltip player_id='1222646' first='Micaela' last='Cavalcanti'], [player_tooltip player_id='1222647' first='Lorrie' last='Brown'], and [player_tooltip player_id='750894' first='Trinity' last='Boone']. Here are the new faces joining DME's National squad for the 2026-27 season:    Chance is a Canadian transfer making the move to Florida, and she arrives at DME as a top-50 player nationally and adds another talented guard to an already loaded roster. She is a shifty and crafty playmaker with excellent body control who competes on both ends of the floor. Chance can create for herself but also does a good job distributing the ball and taking care of possessions. She is also a high-level rebounder from the guard position, giving DME another versatile piece to work with.     Making the move from California to Florida, Love brings a major frontcourt presence to DME after moving from one coast to the other. The top-100 player nationally is already committed to Nevada and brings a strong frame, mobility, good hands and clean footwork to the interior. She embraces physicality and plays with the kind of presence that can impact both ends of the floor. As a motorsports enthusiast, Love also has a fun connection to her new home in Daytona Beach which made DME an especially fitting destination.     As a staple in the Southeast, Ginny makes the move from North Carolina to Florida and brings plenty of offensive firepower with her. The UCLA commit is a flashy and smooth guard with a deep offensive bag. Her handle, mid-range game and ability to rise into pull-up jumpers make her a difficult matchup and give DME another dynamic shot creator on the perimeter.     DME adds a massive international talent with Isabel coming to Florida from Italy. She brings the ability to stretch the floor with her shot while also using her length to make an impact on the glass. With significant international playing experience under her belt, Isabel gives DME another talented and versatile addition to an already deep roster.     Paola takes her talents from Connecticut to Florida after arriving in the United States in 2025, with French roots adding another international element to DME's roster. The lefty brings intriguing versatility and length to the floor to give DME another piece capable of impacting the game in multiple roles.     Jada is no stranger to Florida, but she will take her talents from the west coast of the state to the east coast after helping Booker T. Washington capture a state championship. One of the most recognizable names in Florida basketball, Jada is widely regarded as one of the top athletes in the country and brings an impressive blend of athleticism and competitiveness to DME. Her addition, along with her twin brother, makes for an exciting new chapter as the two join the DME Academy program.     Serenity brings a different geographic connection to DME after making the move from Hawaii to Florida. She is a big and strong presence who rebounds with plenty of toughness while also showing the ability to put points on the board. Her smooth game and versatility make her another intriguing addition to DME's deep roster.    IMG Academy - Biggest Contender (16-8 last season)   One of the biggest contenders in Florida year after year, IMG Academy will once again enter the season with a loaded roster and plenty of depth. The Ascenders battled through health issues last season, but if they can stay healthy in 2026-27, this group has the talent and depth to be a scary matchup for anyone in the country.   IMG returns [player_tooltip player_id='1093289' first='Miciah' last='Fusilier'], [player_tooltip player_id='811751' first='Madi' last='Mignery'], [player_tooltip player_id='1318710' first='Jessie' last='Moses'], [player_tooltip player_id='787974' first='Nevaeh' last='Roberson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1681664' first='Stevi' last='Harmon'] as a strong foundation to build around. They have also added several new pieces this offseason to further strengthen what is one of the deepest rosters in the country. Here are the new pieces being added into the fold:    After making the move from Montverde Academy to IMG Academy, Jayla brings one of the most imposing frontcourt presences in the country to the Ascenders. The top-20 player nationally and Texas commit has the size, skill, and presence to anchor the paint for IMG. With a versatile group of forwards around her, IMG will have tremendous size and versatility in the frontcourt with Jayla serving as the centerpiece.     Jojo has made the move from Illinois to Florida and brings a high-level combination of length and athleticism to an already loaded IMG Academy roster. The top-35 player nationally has the physical tools to create matchup problems all over the floor. Jordyn's length gives her the ability to impact both ends while her athleticism adds another dimension to IMG's deep group.     Momo has made the move from Tennessee to Florida and gives IMG another dynamic perimeter piece. The top-40 player nationally plays with a chip on her shoulder and brings a shifty point guard style to the Ascenders. Kamora has a strong handle, plays with good pace and energy, and can heat up from deep which gives IMG another guard capable of putting pressure on a defense.     Claire makes the move from Indiana to Florida after gaining familiarity with the Southeast through travel ball and previous time in the state. That familiarity should help her quickly acclimate to her new surroundings and focus on basketball. She will be the youngest player on the roster, but she will have a valuable opportunity to earn serious reps against elite competition on a daily basis, making this a key developmental year as one of the top 2030's in the country.    Montverde Academy (18-4 last season)   MVA enters Year 2 under new leadership with a strong returning core and plenty of familiarity within the program. The Eagles bring back [player_tooltip player_id='772526' first='Jordan' last='Speller'], [player_tooltip player_id='1319618' first='Mia-Elle' last='Lieverst'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1090647' first='Delissa' last='Morris'] to give Montverde a verteran trio to build around heading into the 2026-27 season.   With another year in the system and additional pieces expected to join the roster, Montverde will look to take another step forward and remain one of the premier prep programs in Florida and the country. Here are the new additions we know of being added to the Eagles' lineup:    Layla has made the transfer from Georgia to the Sunshine State, and she brings intriguing length and plenty of upside to Montverde Academy. Her length allows her to impact the game as a shot blocker and rebounder while also giving her an advantage around the basket. She can use that size and length to finish over defenders, making her an intriguing addition to the Montverde frontcourt.     Making the move from California to Florida, Chayana brings international playing experience and a high level of athleticism to Montverde Academy. She has serious elevation and moves exceptionally well on both ends of the floor with impressive body control and feel for the game. Her versatility allows her to impact the game in multiple ways, and she embraces physicality on both ends.     A move south brings Aria to the Sunshine State after playing in Minnesota this summer, with the Kosovo native also bringing international experience to the Eagles. She adds some serious size and length to Montverde's frontcourt and gives the program another physical presence to work with inside. Her combination of size, length, and international experience makes her an intriguing addition to the Eagles' roster.     After spending last season at Southeastern Prep, Anyla returns to Montverde Academy and brings plenty of familiarity back to the Eagles. Already a well-known name in Florida basketball, she will also be back on the court this season after recovering from injury. When she returns to form, expect Anyla to quickly reestablish herself among the top 2029 prospects in Florida and nationally.    Central Pointe   Central Pointe brings back a strong core for the 2026-27 season under head coach Wesley Arocho. The program returns [player_tooltip player_id='1220993' first='Sofia' last='Acuña'], [player_tooltip player_id='1824901' first='Sara' last='Martins De Souza'], [player_tooltip player_id='844873' first='Sara' last='Dagba'], [player_tooltip player_id='1834321' first='Nika' last='Hribar'], [player_tooltip player_id='1824893' first='Tina' last='Bodražić'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1826064' first='Masa' last='Prascevic']. This gives the team plenty of continuity heading into the new season. CPCA will also add to that foundation with a mix of in-state Florida transfers and international players with national team experience. The combination of proven returners and new talent should give Arocho an intriguing roster to work with. Here are the new pieces being added to their roster:    Bringing international experience to the Central Pointe roster, Deniz arrives from Azerbaijan after competing with the country's senior national team. She adds a proven international perspective to this group and gives Central Pointe another intriguing piece to work with heading into the new season.     Central Pointe adds another player with senior national team experience as Bethsaida makes the move from Paraguay to the United States. She competes with the Paraguay senior national team, giving CPCA another international piece with high-level experience to add to the roster.     Central Pointe continues to add international flavor to its roster with Jana arriving from Serbia. She becomes another international addition for the White Tigers as the program continues to build a roster that blends its returning Florida core with talent from around the world.     One of the top point guards in Latin America, Jimena brings an impressive international résumé to Central Pointe after transferring from Mexico. At the most recent World Cup, she finished fourth in scoring at 16.7 points per game, third in steals at 3.0 per game and second in assists at 5.1 per game. Her ability to create, distribute, and generate turnovers gives Wesley Arocho another dynamic piece to add to the backcourt.     Central Pointe also adds some familiar in-state talent with Lya arriving from Schoolhouse Prep. She provides additional depth in the backcourt and gives CPCA another option to work into an already diverse group of perimeter pieces.     Coming over from Zephyrhills Christian Academy, Cali gives Central Pointe another frontcourt piece with added size and length. Her presence helps round out the roster and provides more versatility up front heading into the season.     A young and fiery point guard, Zoe joins Central Pointe after transferring from Zephyrhills Christian Academy. The 2030 prospect brings energy and competitiveness to the backcourt and will have an opportunity to develop alongside a talented group of older players.     An in-state addition from Haines City, Paulina gives Central Pointe another versatile option on the wing. Her ability to play multiple roles adds depth and flexibility to the roster as the program blends its returning core with a talented group of newcomers.     Valeria stays in state with her move to Central Pointe, bringing added depth to the frontcourt and some familiarity with the program. Her experience with the group should help ease the transition while giving Central Pointe another option to work into its frontcourt rotation.    Southeastern Prep   SEPA enters the 2026-27 season with a new voice at the helm. The program will have plenty of continuity despite the coaching change, returning [player_tooltip player_id='646516' first='London' last='Baez'], [player_tooltip player_id='1215709' first='Miraldina' last='Buitchi'], [player_tooltip player_id='1222625' first='Darya' last='Kulik'], [player_tooltip player_id='1822602' first='Princess' last='Ekezie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='248680' first='Janiya' last='Swift']. With a strong returning group in place, Coach Brace will have a solid foundation to build from in his first season leading the program. Here are the new pieces being added into the fold:    Taylor brings a strong national résumé to Southeastern Prep after making the move from Ohio to Florida. The top-60 player nationally holds a slew of Power Four offers and arrives with plenty of high-level experience from the travel ball circuit. She also shares an Ohio connection with [player_tooltip player_id='966460' first='Janiyah' last='Hargrave'], adding another familiar link as she begins this next chapter in Florida.     Another highly regarded Ohio prospect joining Southeastern Prep, Janiyah brings a top-30 national ranking and a long list of Power Four offers to Florida. Her travel ball experience has given her plenty of exposure to high-level competition, and she arrives alongside fellow Ohio product [player_tooltip player_id='1056222' first='Taylor' last='Stanfield']. The connection between the two should provide some familiarity as they begin their new chapter in Florida.     Staying in state, Arianna makes the move from Zephyrhills Christian Academy to Southeastern Prep and adds versatility and depth to the roster. She is a strong wing who can be a tough cover while playing with poise, giving the program another reliable option on the perimeter.     Samara stays in Florida with her move from Lyman to Southeastern Prep, adding another versatile piece to an already loaded roster. Her ability to fill multiple roles gives the program additional depth and flexibility heading into the season.
