The North Dakota 2022 class is a tough class to rank in the top 40 prospects or so, as there aren’t many clear tiers separating the top prospects. [player_tooltip player_id="14168" first="Abby" last="Duchscherer"] is the clear #1 and in her own tier and the #2-#5 rated prospects could be in a single tier as well. After the top 5 is when prospects start to become difficult to decipher in comparison with one another. That speaks on the solid depth of the class, going all the way to the back to the top 40.
The 2022 class is lacking at the center position and doesn’t have a ton of height with its top prospects. This class has more guards and wings that are toward the top of the rankings list than usual.
#3 [player_tooltip player_id="14172" first="Ava" last="Wild"] - Fargo Davies - (6’0/SF/2022) - Ava goes back one spot to #3, but her level of play has risen recently. She has started to come into her own and progress quite nicely in the scoring department, with 7 straight games scoring 11+ points, bringing her scoring average to 9.7 ppg. She also gets in done defensively with 6.3 rpg. and 2.8 stls.
#5 [player_tooltip player_id="99807" first="Lorelei" last="Mcliver"] - Glenburn- (6’0/SF/2021) - A long 6’0 wing that is one of the top 2022’s in the state. She’s very active defensively, always using her length against the ball-handler. Opposing guards struggle with her length and pressure. She’s going for the ball and trying to force a turnover every time. Somewhat of an unorthodox style of offensive play, but is effective and a legitimate prospect. Finishes well and well in transition play. She’s long and can build up great long-speed in a hurry.
#7 [player_tooltip player_id="14171" first="Rachel" last="Dahlen"] - Devils Lake - (6’2/C/2022) - Mentioned as a stock-riser earlier in the season, Rachel officially moves up the board into the top 10. Her size at 6’2 is what separates her in this class. Her statistical numbers include 11.4 ppg. and 8.7 rpg.
#9 [player_tooltip player_id="199970" first="Quinn" last="Neppl"] - (5’8/CG/2022) - Quinn didn’t necessarily rise up the rankings but PGH wanted to give her a mention anyways, as a prospect to know in the state. She recently scored 1,000 career points. A decent-sized guard that can get to the hoop and score. Can can get through multiple defenders to score a layup. She slices through the defense in transition. A great transition game in general. Can shoot a pull-up jumper fairly naturally.
#11 [player_tooltip player_id="196833" first="Peyton" last="Pederson"] - Valley City - (5’11/SF/2022) - Peyton is coming off a 14 point and 9 rebound game against Fargo South. Her overall numbers on the season are 8.5 ppg., 6.6 rpg., and 1.5 stls.
#12 [player_tooltip player_id="207394" first="Jessica" last="Walsvik"] - West Fargo - (6’0/C/2022) - Also mentioned in previous posts as a stock-riser, Jessica makes a significant jump up the rankings moving from #66 to #12. West Fargo has a ton of talent on their roster, so Jessica can seem like an afterthought to many but she’s athletic and moves very well at 6’0.
#16 [player_tooltip player_id="99825" first="Jaycee" last="Richter"] - Linton/HMB - (5’6/PG/2022) - Jaycee is a legitimate guard that plays with speed, quickness, and strength. She’s athletic and moves exceptionally well, with or without the ball. Against Oakes she scored 27 points in the game.
#18 [player_tooltip player_id="196268" first="Payton" last="Gerving"] - Bismarck High - (5’7/CG/2022) - A solid overall guard that is a three-point threat, Payton is averaging 8.8 ppg. on 38% shooting from three. Is quick and moves well.
#22 [player_tooltip player_id="199635" first="Grace" last="Miller"] - Fargo North - (5’10/SF-PF/2022) - 12.6 ppg. + 8.8 rpg. - Grace joined newly developed club team, ND Flight. The lefty is having a solid season, but she could really improve this summer as the go-to player for that program.
#26 [player_tooltip player_id="207067" first="Bethany" last="Schmidt"] - Tioga - (6’0/C/2022) - Tall, athletic, and moves well as a true post prospect. #30 [player_tooltip player_id="99820" first="Rylie" last="Holzer"] - Central Cass - (5’4/PG/2022) - The point guard for undefeated and #1 rated class B team. Rylie is skilled in all areas of point guard play; ball-handling, quickness, passing, shooting, decision making, etc. A highly accurate three-point shooter and also handles defensive pressure very well. A very skilled passer that can make difficult passes look easy. Her size is her only limitation.
#33 [player_tooltip player_id="206273" first="Morgan" last="Freije"] - Langdon/Edmore/Munich - 5’10/SF/2022) - Her game can be explained by the word slasher. She’s great at going to the hoop and has a formidable mid-range game.
#41 [player_tooltip player_id="208012" first="Miyah" last="Holzworth"] - Bismarck - (5’9/SF/2022) - A solid wing for Bismarck High that plays her team role very well.
