Prep Girls Hoops was taking in the action this past weekend at the Sumter Civic Center and Wilson Hall Academy from the SCISA State Tourney. The future of basketball looks be very solid in the up and coming classes here in the Palmetto State. Yarde guided the Lady Eagles to a easy opening round win over Dillon Christian. Yarde a great on the ball defender really can set-up her teammates well with her play from the backcourt. Yarde a point guard has good court awareness and really likes to use the bounce pass. Yarde was able to change directions and play the game from the top as a pass first point guard. Can her and the Lady Eagles make in 3 in a row this year state championships ?

Brown a forward tends to do all of her work in the paint. Brown was able to finish around the basket with both hands today on her way to 17 points in the Eagles win over Heathwood Hall. Brown works side to side and block to block to receive the ball. Brown has good footwork and keeps on getting more comfortable on the floor with her play.

Freeman was a great spark off the bench for the Lady Eagles in the opening round win over Pee Dee Academy. Freeman showed to be a good on the ball defender while creating some havoc on the day for the Lady Eagles. Freeman ignited the Eagles in the the opening round win.

Adams a point guard plays the game very deliberate with her demeanor on the floor. Adams uses the ball screen well to get by defenders. Adams never seemed to force any passes and played active in the passing lanes. Adams helped the Lady Skyhawks in the opening defeat Laurence Manning Academy.

Mapes plays at very small school up in Greenwood. Mapes helped the Lady Cougars stay close in a highly contested game with Dorchester Academy. Mapes a shooting guard was able to knockdown 4 three pointers. Mapes logged a lot of minutes for the Lady Cougars and never left the floor.
