Prep Girls Hoops Michigan recently updated it’s prospect rankings for the senior class. It’s tempting to look at the top, but due to the depth of talent here in Michigan, there are star players deep into the list. We will look at some star post players outside the top 100.
[player_tooltip player_id="138364" first="Jakayra" last="McCarty"] (PF, Detroit King)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #103
McCarty is a long and athletic power forward. She’s an excellent vertical defender that challenges and alters shots with her length. McCarty can run the floor, filling the wing or trailing for a second chance opportunity.
[player_tooltip player_id="138395" first="Kerrington" last="Gordon"] (PF, Lincoln Park)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #107
Gordon has a legitimate argument to be ranked even higher. She’s gets up and down the floor and is a force in transition. Gordon is an athletic rebounder that finds her way through space and is tough to box out. She could very well average a double-double this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="138356" first="Isabel" last="Reemsnyder"] (PF, Mason)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #115
Reemsnyder is a good old fashioned success story. She had been consistently underrated as a player, but continued to battle and work on her game. The Aquinas commit gets the job done. She’s physical on the glass and can score from multiple levels.
[player_tooltip player_id="138361" first="Taylor" last="Walton"] (PF, Chandler Park)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #127
Walton is a true team player. With tons of offensive talent at Chandler Park, she finds ways to make herself a star player. On any given night, Walton can pull down 15 rebounds. If a star scorer is having an off night, Walton can very easily drop 15 points of her own.
[player_tooltip player_id="177295" first="Amil" last="Hatcher"] (PF, Detroit Cody)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #141
Hatcher could be on the verge of a huge senior season. I like the way she attacks the paint defensively. She plays like she owns it. Hatcher can pick up second chance points on the offensive end. She could be one of the top post players, and prospects overall, in the PSL this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="138384" first="Jacqueline" last="Hurst"] (PF, Rochester)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking:: #145
If you haven’t watched Hurst play, treat yourself this season. She’s an energy and hustle player that will earn points and secure wins in that way. She’s a fast 4 that can extend the defense and pressure the opposing teams post players.
