2021 Rankings Update: Newcomers Below is a list of players who have proven to be phenomenal athletes and players who would excel at the next level. Each one of these players are new to the list of rankings and have not been before ranked by Prep Girls Hoops. [player_tooltip player_id="255799" first="Gabby" last="Johnson"] | Freedom | St. Thomas | 5’9 PG Johnson averaged nearly 13 points per game this season. In a victory over Waupaca, she scored 23 points for her team. She can score at all three levels and is lethal when attacking the rim and finishing against contact. A floor general as well, Johnson averaged nearly 5 assists per game. [player_tooltip player_id="260835" first="Jamera" last="Bean"] | Milwaukee Lutheran | WI Impact | 5’3 PG Bean emerged late during her high school career but has been nothing short of elite. She’s a quick guard with intelligence and confidence on the floor. Her ability to be a playmaker and find her teammates open is about as good as anyone I’ve watched compete this season. Her game has a high ceiling as she continues to mature and become stronger on the court. [player_tooltip player_id="260840" first="Gabrielle" last="Gawlitta"] | Frankin | UW Stevens Point | 6’0 F Gawlitta helped lead her Franklin team to a Division 1 state tournament appearance- not an easy task by any means and she did so with consistency and ability to be a force on both ends. She has great positional height that will carry over to the next level- and she can handle the ball on the outside if needed. She averaged nearly 11 points per game this season. In her semi-final loss to Hudson, Gawlitta scored a season-high 18 points. [player_tooltip player_id="260842" first="Lindsay" last="Kirby"] | St. Thomas More | 1 on 1 MKE | 5’9 CG Kirby is an exciting prospect to watch as she understands where to be on both ends of the court. Her spacing and ability to create a game without handling the ball is what sticks out most. She’s athletic and springy- she finds the gaps well and does an excellent job of reading the defender. She has led her team for all four seasons of her high school career. This season she finished with 18 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. [player_tooltip player_id="260841" first="Kaylee" last="Marty"] | Black Hawk | 5’5 SG Marty competed on one of the state’s top programs, Black Hawk, and still found a way to stand out. She’s a fantastic shooting guard with the ability to knock it down with consistency. She doesn’t need much room to hit the mid range jumper or three point basket in her opponents face. This season she averaged 15 points per game. In a victory over Pecatonica, Marty scored 26 points. She scored nearly 800 points in her career at Black Hawk. [player_tooltip player_id="260836" first="Raegan" last="Sorenson"] | Unity | 5’7 PG Sorenson scored 1,143 career points during her three years as a varsity player on Unity. She’s a versatile guard who attacks the rim and does a great job using her body in the paint. Not much of a perimeter scorer, Sorenson has the handles and strength to make a game for herself inside the lane. This season she averaged nearly 24 points per game. In a victory over Phillips, Sorenson scored 40 points for Unity. [player_tooltip player_id="260834" first="Nicole" last="Norton"] | Southern Door | 5’9 CG A four-year varsity standout for Southern Door, Norton had an incredible senior season and showcased how dynamic she could be at the next level. Her first step is explosive and she often leaves defenders off their feet. She can pull up in the midrange, use a floater or draw the foul underneath. Her footwork and balance make her elite when attacking against taller defenders. This season she averaged nearly 24 points per game. In a game against Gibraltar late in her senior season, Norton scored 37 points. She scored 1,133 career points. [player_tooltip player_id="260829" first="Kate" last="Hosking"] | Slinger | Luther College | 5’8 CG Hosking showcased a high level of playmaking this season for Slinger. She’s a floor general who creates the pace on offense- things run through her and she takes on that role incredibly well. She knows that she needs to play at a high level for her team to be successful and in turn that made her an even more well-rounded athlete. She’s able to play a lot of minutes and still make an impact on both ends. This season she averaged nearly 8 points per game. In a loss against Hartford, Hosking scored a season-high 22 points. [player_tooltip player_id="260828" first="Autumn" last="Earney"] | Ellsworth | 5’8 G The Ellsworth guard now holds the title for her program’s All Time Leading Scorer. She has incredible length and ability to thrive at the next level with her athleticism and basketball IQ. Her feel for the game shows in her ability to move without the ball and find herself open within the offense. She was often double-teamed and still found ways to put up impact numbers. She scored over 1,300 career points during her four years at Ellsworth. This season she averaged 14 points per game. In a victory over Osceola, Earney scored 27 points. [player_tooltip player_id="202262" first="Nikki" last="Dienberg"] | New Berlin Eisenhower | WI Impact | 5’8 CG The New Berlin Eisenhower standout will be terrific at the next level because of all the things she brings to the court. Her energy is high and remains high on both ends of the court the entire game. She has a high motor- Dienberg seems to give everything in the tank each time she is on the floor. A true competitor. This season she helped lead her team to a WIAA State Tournament appearance. She averaged nearly 14 points per game and 6 assists. In a win against a talented Oregon team, Dienberg dished out a season-high 13 assists. She scored 972 points during her four years at NBE. [player_tooltip player_id="260826" first="Sophia" last="Jonas"] | Hudson | 5’7 CG Jonas had a breakout senior season and showcased many skills that will translate well to the next level. She was able to be impressive at the guard spot on a very talented Hudson team. She’s a scoring machine and has been consistent for Hudson for all four years- scoring 1,064 career points. During her senior season she displayed a high level of athleticism and showcased her ability to handle the basketball and be confident when attacking the rim. She can score at all three levels and has a smooth but quick release to her shot. This season she averaged 14 points per game. In her first game of the season against Prescott, Jonas scored a season-high 33 points. [player_tooltip player_id="255801" first="Alayna" last="Suprenand"] | Winnebago Lutheran | 5’8 PG Suprenand was added to the rankings this season and made her debut high on the list as she is a game changer on the floor. She has decision making and ability to knock down the three-point basket. She plays to her own tempo and isn’t frazzled by other teams high pressure defense. She does a great job finding her own shot within the offense or dishing to her open post player inside. This season she averaged 17 points per game. She scored her season high 29 points in a victory over St. Mary’s Springs. It is important to note that Suprenand missed a majority of her sophomore season and all of her junior season due to a knee injury.
