2022 Rankings: Top Centers

In our final positional ranking for the junior class of 2022, we now take a look at the centers of Washington State. This class does not have much depth at the center position, but there are a few names worth tracking and knowing about as these players enter their final Spring/Summer of club basketball. 1) Checking in as the clear number one prospect is none other than 6’4 Center [player_tooltip player_id="27938" first="Camille" last="Jentzsch"] of Lake Stevens High School. Her slow but steady development over the course of the last few years has been impressive. She dealt with some injuries early in her high school career, but when healthy, the Lake Stevens star is a load in the paint on both sides of the ball. She has great hands and ability to finish with either hand. She provides shot blocking on the defensive end and she is a strong rebounder. A refreshing, true center with back to the basket game as well as some touch from the midrange. 2) The second best prospect at the center position is actually a University of Washington volleyball commit, unfortunately for some Division 1 college basketball programs. 6’4 [player_tooltip player_id="27933" first="Elise" last="Hani"] from Lake Washington High School has outstanding length and mobility as well as soft touch around the basket. Her game is predicated on length and mobility and being primarily a long and rangy volleyball player, she does not posses the same strength and physicality as her counterparts on this list. Nonetheless, he is still an impact player on the court and could play D1 college basketball if she chose to follow that path. 3) 6’2 Center [player_tooltip player_id="28423" first="Alexis" last="Stein"] out of Kennewick High School is a player that has had some injuries in the last year or so, but came onto the scene pretty strong a couple years ago in her freshman season. Her brute strength and physicality immediately stood out. The key is her health which correlates with her conditioning. If Stein can stay healthy, she provide put back scoring opportunities, physical post defense and hard screen setting.
