Here we look at 8th, 9th, and 10th graders who are looking to have a big AAu season before entering high school, or making the jump from 9th to 10th grade, and 10th to 11th.
Jessica Downs, Mass Titans, Position G, grade 8th
Jessica is a guard who has good handles with her right hand, but could improve on her off hand. Jessica is a pretty good finisher, Jessica just needs to not fadeaway as much, and go into the contact. Jessica is very fast and just needs to learn to control the speed that she plays at. Jessica has a very raw skill set, and does have a lot of potential.
Sophia Jones, Mass Titans, Postion F, grade 8th
Sophia is a forward who can stretch the floor and shoot. Sophia has good shot, and is a decent finisher. Sophia can also make free throws when fouled. Sophie could work on not jumping on ball fakes, and staying down more.
Jessie Silk, Bay state Jaguars, position G, Grade 9
Jessie is a high volume and skilled guard. Jessie has size for a guard, finishes well, and can shoot. Jessie has a high skill set. Jessie has the take over the game factor. Jessie is a player who will have a big Aau season, and plays at the varsity level as a 9th grader.
Mariana Padilla, Bay state Jaguars, Position G, Grade 10th
Mariana is a high skilled lefty guard. Mariana has a very soft shooting touch and is great in the catch and shoot. Mariana has a high basketball IQ and is good at reading the defense and making the smart pass, or knowing when to pull up. Mariana is hard working and has a very good attitude. Mariana is also a force on defense with her active hands in the passing land, and good on ball pressure. Mariana is a player who you should watch for the years to come.
Hannah Schwager, Boston Bobcats, Position F, Grade 8th.
Hannah is a forward who is physical and strong, has a pretty good shot and understands the game well. Hannah is athletic and a good passer, and defender. Hannah can stretch the floor and score down low. Hannah is very physical on boxing out and rebounding. Hannah has a high drive that does not shut off.
