Teams fought tooth and nail to win games and make a mark on the way to the conference tournaments held in three different brackets. Only three teams ended the year as champions but so many great players from around the conference were able to show just how supremely talented they are. Here is your All Tri-County Team for this season.
G: Peyton Gilmore, Delsea: The top team in the Liberty Division, Delsea was a steady force all year long. One of the players leading the team was Peyton Gilmore, the driving force of the offense and a big contributor on defense as well. In her senior season Gilmore averaged 20.5 points per game, pacing the team and proving to fans, scouts and thee coaching staff that she can handle a big work load. While Delsea didn’t end the year as champions Gilmore did everything she possibly could to bring her team to the brink, using her incredible energy all throughout the year.
G: Jenna Georgette, Pitman: A player who was potentially a bit overlooked because of a lack of team domination was Pitman’s own Jenna Georgette. With Pitman only having a 7-8 record on the year there didn’t seem to be a ton of eyes on the senior who put up stellar averages of 19.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Georgette showed her ability to attack the rim when necessary but also showed the poise to know when to pick and choose her spots, settling for long range shots when the defense dictated. Georgette made an average of 2.5 three pointers per game and gave defenses fits when she decided to attack.
G: Amaya Burch, Timber Creek: One of the most surprising teams coming out of the Tri-County Conference this year was Timber Creek. After an underwhelming season last year the team turned a corner this year and ended up winning the Tri-County Bracket A Championship after an 11-3 regular season. Part of the reason for Timber Creek’s success was because of the big step forward junior Amaya Burch took. In her third year on the team Burch averaged 18.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, dictating the flow of the offense and becoming a crucial part of the defense too. With one year remaining for Burch’s high school career she will have plenty of fans watching as she looks to lead Timber Creek back to similar success.
F: Alexis Davis Alexis Davis 6'0" | SF Woodbury | 2023 State NJ , Glassboro: To put it simply, Alexis Davis Alexis Davis 6'0" | SF Woodbury | 2023 State NJ completely and utterly dominated this season. In just her sophomore year Davis put up staggering averages of 28.1 points, 16.8 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 2.5 steals per game, leading Glassboro to a 10-3 record in the shortened season. You can only imagine what her averages would look like in a normal year. A menace anywhere on the court, Davis showed off her capability as a three point shooter as well as a post threat and made life hard on every opponent when she was in the zone on defense. Davis is truly only getting started.
C: Imani Gillette, Overbrook: This season was an up and down one for Overbrook. A 7-7 record is nothing special, but with such a young team a .500 record should be looked at as a good thing. The player that helped the team the moat this season was junior center Imani Gillette, Overbrook has her for another year and they must be jumping for joy because she is a difference maker. On the season Gillette averaged 20.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, proving that she is one of the most well rounded centers in not only the conference, but the entire state too. With the valuable experience that this season brought to a young team look out for Gillette to lead Overbrook to more sustained success next year as she once again dominates in the paint.
