MVP- Dana Rose Dana Rose 6'0" | SF Fort Loramie | 2021 State OH , 6-0 2021, Fort Loramie
She was hands down the best player in the Division 4 Final Four leading her team to the state championship. In her two games, Dana (feature photo above) scored 35 points and shot the ball extremely well dropping 13-19 shots including a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc. She also added 12 rebounds, dished out three assists with four steals. One of the most impressive stats for her this weekend is only one turnover in almost 49 minutes of fast paced action. She showed why Tiffin is excited to have her coming, has a very good inside/out game with the ability to score on the move.
Corynn Heitkamp, 5-6 2021, Fort Loramie
As mentioned earlier in the state tournament, Corynn (pictured right) did so many of the little things that often go unnoticed by the media, but not by her coaches and team. She was rock solid out on the court for a team that was far superior than everyone in the D4 Final Four. Her and Caitlyn Gasson were the glue that ran the offense. She ended the state tournament with 18 points on 6-10 shooting with four threes. She also dished out three assists and in over 41 minutes, she committed no turnovers. Unsung hero for the Redskins.
Kenzie Hoelscher, 6-0 2021, Fort Loramie
The conference and District 9 Player of the Year showed her incredible athleticism all season, and when it counted she delivered. Kenzie may be going to play volleyball in college, but she could just as easily play this sport. She finished two games with 24 points and was steady and consistent all weekend. She was 9-22 from the field, 6-8 from the line, but she added seven assists finding the best shot for her team. She also only had three turnovers in two games, very good for someone who is so active in the game.
Molly Howard, 5-11 2021, McDonald
Definitely one of the most underrated and underappreciated seniors in Ohio, Molly (pictured left) really showcased her skills well in the two games. Opened a lot of eyes in the semi-final win with 21-point 12-rebound performance and finished the tournament with 31 points, 16 rebounds on 10-22 shooting from the field. She showed a lot of good range from beyond the arc, and I enjoyed the way showed a variety of offensive moves. Good up-and-under game and can hit the midrange shot. Also good on the boards. Fort Loramie did a good job containing her in the finals, but Redskins coach Carla Siegel was quick to point out her skills in the post game presser.
Sophia Costantino, 5-8 2021, McDonald
Loved her positive swagger on the court and her ability to create shots for herself and her team. She struggled in the finals against Fort Loramie, but in the semis, she shot the ball well with a 6-9 performance to score 15 points, while adding six rebounds. Her grit and desire showed through in the two games. She was not afraid of contact and did a good job against the suffocating defense of Fort Loramie with only a couple of turnovers. Will leave her legacy at McDonald as a player who didn’t quit.
Cara Taylor, 5-4 2022, Waterford
She saw her team fall in the semis after getting into a tough 13-2 hole after the opening period and could never recover against McDonald. Cara put in some good minutes with 11 points on 5-15 shooting with three rebounds, four assists and a very solid defensive effort with seven steals. She was aggressive and showed good handles, controlled the tempo and returns next season for another shot at a trip to Dayton.
