Anastasia Sinclair Anastasia Sinclair 5'7" | CG South Mecklenburg | 2023 State NC (South Mecklenburg, 2023) has been playing with older athletes most of her high school career, and her IQ certainly explains why. She handles the ball well controlling the tempo of the game. She is patient when letting a play develop and pushes the ball up the court when she has the opportunity. She strips the ball from her opponents and immediately takes it the other direction.
Lydia Babiyre (Victory Christian, 2023) can shoot from behind the arc, and she shows off her shots after consistently moving into the gaps on defense. She can handle the ball driving through contact, especially making her own plays driving from the top of the key. She’s also a teammate that you want on the court cheering and encouraging others no matter what is going on. She has a nice shot, and she is ready to shoot whenever she gets the ball. She can pick the pocket of her opponents and take it the other direction for fast break points. She has great vision of the court finding her open teammates, especially at a quick pace in transition.
Kennedy Williams (Piedmont Charter, 2023) uses her height to make the paint seem so much smaller. She follows shots grabbing rebounds, and her close out on opponents when they are shooting is certainly intimidating. She does a good job deciding how to score quickly whether she wants to show off her shot or drive to the basket. She keeps the ball high ready to pass or make a play to the basket herself. She can create separation from her opponents to show off her shot.
Laila Hankerson (Rock Hill, 2023) is another ball handler for the FBC teams who knows when and how to use her moves with the ball. She has a nice hesitation move and some crossover moves she likes to use when getting by her opponents. She is strong with the ball protecting the possession. She is a tough defender making sure her opponents have no easy passes to get by her.
Arianna Perry (Cox Mill, 2023) uses her length and height to see the floor and cause problems for her opponents. She moves aggressively in the paint finding ways to score battling through contact if she has to. She throws hard passes making sure her teammates are the only ones who can grab the ball. On the other end of the court, she jumps into passing lanes grabbing steals. She picks the pockets of her opponents.
Laura Lassiter (Myers Park, 2023) handles the ball well and has a nasty behind the back dribble that leaves defenders wondering how she got by them. She knows how to drive to the basket and use her moves at the perfect time to get by her opponents. She can certainly show off her shot from behind the arc. She drives to the basket scoring three points the old fashioned way if she has to.
Alana Hankerson (Rock Hill, 2024) follows shots to make sure she can get some second chance opportunities. She knows the importance of timing when running plays whether she is waiting for a play to develop while she has the ball, or she is making a cut looking for the ball to get open. She can handle the ball with speed and makes nice passes to her teammates. She can certainly score herself showing off a nice jump shot.
Alyssa Hankerson (Rock Hill, 2024) knows how to handle the ball against older competition even at such a young age. She does a great job penetrating the paint and finding her open teammates in order for them to score. She knows how to push the ball up the court constantly looking for her teammates cutting to the basket on fast breaks. She grabs rebounds and takes it the other direction, or she jumps into passing lanes to grab steals. She can certainly shoot well from behind the arc.
