Yesterday afternoon, for the 40th consecutive year, Hoosier Basketball Magazine hosted their Top-60 workout to showcase what they consider to be the best Seniors around the Hoosier state. The event took place at Beech Grove High School, and it was split into two Sessions. Session I ran from 1:00-3:00 p.m. EDT and featured mostly players from the Northern and Southern portions of the state. Below is a look at those specific players, broken down by which team they were on throughout Session I.
Blue Blazers
[player_tooltip player_id="130311" first="Courtney" last="Blakely"], 2021, 5-7 PG, Hammond Bishop Noll Institute, Uncommitted
- She was a blur all day, flying up and down the floor, trying to make plays off the bounce more than anything, and she did a really nice job of finding teammates in transition. She also shot it well, and with range.
[player_tooltip player_id="22680" first="Rebekah" last="Gordon"], 2021, 6-1 PF, Heritage Hills H.S., Auburn University
- Rebekah had a pretty strong and consistent day. She played hard like always, she was physical when she needed to be and battled inside on the boards, plus she shot it well from the perimeter, especially liking the long-corners.
[player_tooltip player_id="99430" first="Taylor" last="Heath"], 2021, 5-2 PG, Triton Central H.S., Hanover College
- One of the best pure high school point guards in Indiana, Taylor always does a nice job of taking care of the ball and finding open teammates. She played with a nice motor and got after it defensively too.
[player_tooltip player_id="10706" first="Destiny" last="Jackson"], 2021, 5-10 CF, Fort Wayne Snider H.S., Loyola University Chicago
- Destiny is never necessarily flashy, but she is all over the floor, and she’s always productive. She showed off her athleticism at times, her toughness, and her ability to defend, plus she rebounded it well and scored it inside.
[player_tooltip player_id="130363" first="Remi" last="Jordan"], 2021, 5-11 PF, Knox H.S., Uncommitted
- Remi has good length, wiry strength, and she plays with a nice motor. She played much stronger than she looks at times, ripped a couple of rebounds away from people, plus she showed nice tough to about 17-feet.
[player_tooltip player_id="35020" first="Hanna" last="Knoll"], 2021, 5-8 CG, Angola H.S., Central Michigan University
- I’ve always liked Hanna’s versatility, and I felt like she had a nice day on the court. She is long and lean, fluid and smooth, and she got into gaps and finished at the basket. She always plays so hard, plus she found teammates.
[player_tooltip player_id="99390" first="Aleena" last="Mongerie"], 2021, 5-7 CG, Munster H.S., Salem University
- Aleena is a fairly strong combo guard who does a nice job of attacking the basket downhill. She plays with a motor, she does a lot of the "little things" to contribute, and she’s consistently productive at both ends of the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="99413" first="Sheridan" last="Robbins"], 2021, 5-9 CF, Orleans H.S., University of Pikeville
- Sheridan is a unique combination of strength and physicality, but also skill and shooting touch from the perimeter. She always competes with a nice motor, she sees the floor well, and she has a solid all-around feel for the game.
Green Giants
[player_tooltip player_id="10705" first="Kaitlyn" last="Costner"], 2021, 5-7 CG, Penn H.S., Ohio State University
- If she wanted, Kaitlyn could be a track star in a number of sprinting and jumping events. She showed off that speed and athleticism all day yesterday, flying up and down the floor making plays at both ends.
[player_tooltip player_id="62534" first="Maycee" last="Lange"], 2021, 6-0 PF, Vincennes Lincoln H.S., University of Evansville
- Maycee has a strong, athletic frame, and she plays with some bounce and a great motor. She is always willing to be physical inside, she’ll post up and rebound, plus she’ll mix it up defensively. She is good in the mid-post too.
[player_tooltip player_id="62552" first="Jillian" last="Osswald"], 2021, 5-7 PG, Hamilton Heights H.S., Taylor University
- Jillian had an outstanding Senior year, and she has improved significantly each season. She has some wiry strength to her, she’s a really nice athlete, and she understands when to play with finesse and when to get feisty.
[player_tooltip player_id="130332" first="Mercedes" last="Rhodes"], 2021, 5-8 SF, Oregon-Davis H.S., Uncommitted
- Mercedes has been one of the state’s best scorers the last two seasons who few people talk about. She has length, touch outside, and she can slice to the basket and pull up or finish. She is just a natural, multilevel scorer.
[player_tooltip player_id="35069" first="Haley" last="Rose"], 2021, 6-0 PF, Linton-Stockton H.S., Indiana Wesleyan University
- I felt like Haley had a really nice day. She is sooo long, fluidly athletic, plus she can knock down shots from the perimeter. She shot it well all day yesterday, and I think Indiana Wesleyan picked up a nice ’steal’ in Haley.
[player_tooltip player_id="130316" first="Alana" last="Striverson"], 2021, 5-9 SG, Silver Creek H.S., Lindenwood University
- Alana is a strong wing guard who helped Silver Creek to the Class 3A title just one week ago. She is a natural scorer, she can knock down shots from the perimeter, but she’s a nice one-directional attacker who gets downhill.
[player_tooltip player_id="35017" first="Trinity" last="Thompson"], 2021, 6-0 PF, Michigan City H.S., Northern Kentucky University
- Trinity had a good day and was all over the place in the early session. She showed skill and effort throughout the drill work, and she was dominant on the boards and played with a nice motor in the scrimmage portion.
[player_tooltip player_id="130353" first="Jaci" last="Walker"], 2021, 5-9 CF, Northridge H.S., Davenport University
- Jaci does a nice job of playing the role of the unassuming, but terribly productive contributor. She quietly does her job, then kills you with a big 3-pointer or a rebound basket inside. She is a versatile athlete with some strength.
Red Raiders
[player_tooltip player_id="22694" first="Gracie" last="Adams"], 2021, 5-9 CF, Lanesville H.S., Uncommitted
- Gracie put together an outstanding season, and she has a number of colleges curious to see if she’d be interested because of her versatility, strength, and skill. She is a really nice shooter, with the ability to hit shots at all levels.
[player_tooltip player_id="99363" first="Aubrey" last="Burgess"], 2021, 5-7 CG, Linton-Stockton H.S., University of Southern Indiana
- Aubrey is a nice team player, the perfect piece to fit among other talents, because she is long, athletic, she plays with a tremendous motor, and she doesn’t demand the ball. She can shoot, score, pass, and really defend the ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="99357" first="Trinity" last="Clinton"], 2021, 5-7 SG, Penn H.S., Uncommitted
- Trinity is an aggressive, strong, tough-nosed, and physical perimeter player who has had a prestigious career at Penn. She is a nice North/South athlete, always on attack, and she does a nice job defensively as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="62554" first="Mariah" last="Dickerson"], 2021, 6-0 C, Evansville Mater Dei H.S., Uncommitted
- Mariah is a somewhat under-recruited post prospect who is seeing a lot of small college interest at this point in time. She plays with a nice motor, she is strong and physical, plus she has good hands and skill in the mid-post.
[player_tooltip player_id="62561" first="Jaclyn" last="Emly"], 2021, 5-10 SF, Silver Creek H.S., Kentucky Wesleyan University
- Jaclyn has had quite a week, winning the Class 3A title last Saturday, plus being awarded the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award. She is a long, skillful wing who can knock down shots at all levels.
[player_tooltip player_id="35016" first="Sydney" last="Jaynes"], 2021, 6-3 C, Trinity Lutheran School, Butler University
- Sydney showed off her versatile skillset yesterday. She has good length, she has gotten stronger over the years, but the intrigue around her has always been her ability to handle, pass, and shoot it like a perimeter player.
[player_tooltip player_id="130315" first="Ryin" last="Ott"], 2021, 5-11 SF, LaPorte H.S., Purdue University-Fort Wayne
- Ryin is such a long, fluid, and smooth wing forward. She has a good handle and playmaking ability, she’s always willing to find the open teammate, plus she can score it at all three levels. She could be a better collegian too.
[player_tooltip player_id="130352" first="Maiah" last="Shelton"], 2021, 5-9 SF, Norwell H.S., Bethel University (IN)
- It was great to see Maiah in this environment, because I haven’t been able to see her play with the best of the best often in the past. She was outstanding, smooth, and scored the ball well everywhere. Bethel got a ’steal’ in her.
Yellow Yankees
[player_tooltip player_id="130335" first="Taylor" last="Austin"], 2021, 5-5 CG, Lake Station Edison H.S., Purdue University-Northwest
- Taylor has always had very good speed, quickness, and playmaking ability, but in the past she has been more of a scorer first. Yesterday, she was looking to create and distribute, and she did a really nice job in that lead guard role.
Ally Compton, 2021, 5-4 CG, North Central H.S. (Farmersburg), Uncommitted
- Ally was a late "fill-in" for someone unable to attend, and she came and competed admirably. She isn’t very big, but she has good quickness, length, a nice motor, and she showed off a versatile perimeter skillset.
[player_tooltip player_id="35021" first="Lilliann" last="Frasure"], 2021, 5-9 SF, North Judson-San Pierre H.S., Indiana Wesleyan University
- I enjoy kids who are so consistent and show you what you expect out of them each time out. Lilliann was unselfish yesterday, she played with her typical great motor, and she did a little of everything and was always around the ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="88414" first="Marissa" last="Gasaway"], 2021, 6-0 PF, Silver Creek H.S., Uncommitted
- This lefty front-liner is a really nice athlete with a great frame and a solid motor. In the drills, she showed some touch to about 15-feet, but during the scrimmage portion she was the rebounder/defender we’ve come to expect.
[player_tooltip player_id="130354" first="Addyson" last="Kent"], 2021, 5-7 CG, Jennings County H.S., Missouri University of Science & Technology
- I’ve always been a fan of Addy’s. She’s a nice, skillful ballplayer with a good feel for the game. She has strength, good all-around athleticism, and she plays with a motor. She can run offense, plus she’s a nice shooter with range.
[player_tooltip player_id="10685" first="Vanessa" last="Shafford"], 2021, 5-9 SG, Linton-Stockton H.S., University of Southern Indiana
- Vanessa has had an outstanding career at Linton-Stockton, and she showed her versatility and skill yesterday. She has strength and is physical on the wing, she can handle and create, plus she scores it at all three levels well.
[player_tooltip player_id="130314" first="Brynn" last="Shoup-Hill"], 2021, 6-3 C, Goshen H.S., University of Dayton
- Brynn had a nice stretch during one scrimmage portion yesterday where she knocked down three 3-pointers in a row, with one being a hop-back. Her touch at her size is impressive, but she can also post and play physical inside.
[player_tooltip player_id="99395" first="Zoe" last="Zellers"], 2021, 5-11 PF, Scottsburg H.S., Goshen College
- Zoe did what Zoe does yesterday. She came up with a number of hustle plays, she chased down rebounds, got physical inside when necessary, plus she showed touch to about 15-feet. I really enjoy her motor and toughness.
[player_tooltip player_id="99373" first="Emily" last="Parrett"] of Carroll High School (Fort Wayne) and [player_tooltip player_id="35027" first="Tenleigh" last="Phelps"] of Triton Central High School were also selected to participate with this group, but unfortunately neither were able to attend due to different reasons.
