Regional 2: Preview And Predictions

<h2>REGIONAL 2</h2> Regional 5 has some talented teams, players, and legitimate Division 1 state title contenders. Here is a preview of the Region and my predictions. <h4>LOCATION</h4> Holly <h4>DATE</h4> March 29 and March 31 <h4>KEY PLAYERS</h4> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138309" first="Lillee" last="Gustafson"] (2021, PF, Hartland)</strong> Gustafson is matchup nightmare for any opponent. The athletic forward is a double-double waiting to happen. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147739" first="Amanda" last="Roach"] (2022, PG, Hartland)</strong> Roach can explode offensively at any given moment. Her energy on defense is equally, if not even more, valuable. <strong>Jenna Baer (2021, PG, White Lake Lakeland)</strong> The senior guard will be counted on as a shooter and perimeter defender that creates tournovers. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147758" first="Grace" last="Goodnough"] (2022, PF, White Lake Lakeland)</strong> Goodnough can have the impact in the paint needed to help her team to a win. Her toughness and grit will be essential. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138330" first="Shannon" last="Kennedy"] (2021, PF, Bloomfield Hills Marian)</strong> The athletic stretch forward will be a lot to handle for the opposition. She’s bouncy under the rim and can score facing the bucket. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244273" first="Mackenzie" last="Swanson"] (2024, C, Bloomfield Hills Marian)</strong> Swanson is a big time freshman prospect. She’s already a flat out difference maker in the paint and her ability to control the paint will be a factor in every game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147767" first="Madison" last="Skorupski"] (2022, CG, Clarkston)</strong> Skorupski has had a true breakout season and has established herself amongst the best perimeter players in the class of 2022. Her game is diverse and she contributes in so many ways. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138357" first="Olivia" last="Toderan"] (2021, PG, Clarkston)</strong> I could have picked any number of players from Clarkston, but I put Toderan here because the senior veteran is playing some really good basketball as of late and could be critical to her teams success. <h4>THE GAMES AND PREDICTIONS</h4> SEMIFINALS Hartland vs. White Lake Lakeland Prediction: Hartland Bloomfield Hills Marian vs. Clarkston Prediction: Bloomfield Hills Marian I want to highlight this semifinal game. Both of these teams have played some really high level basketball this season and it should be a terrific matchup. REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Hartland vs. Bloomfield Hills Marian Prediction: Hartland This game could go either way, but Hartland just has a feel to it this year. I’ll go with them in a tight one.
