Regional 5: Preview And Predictions

<h2>REGIONAL 5</h2> Regional 5 has some talented teams, players, and legitimate Division 1 state title contenders. Here is a preview of the Region and my predictions. <h4>LOCATION</h4> Northville <h4>DATE</h4> March 29 and March 31 <h4>KEY PLAYERS</h4> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27986" first="LaChelle" last="Austin"] (2021, SG, Wayne Memorial)</strong> Austin is a silky smooth scoring guard with a high basketball IQ. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27968" first="Alana" last="Micheaux"] (2021, PF, Wayne Memorial)</strong> Micheaux is an elite post player in the midwest and beyond. She’d be a nightmare for any opponent in Michigan. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175805" first="Ella" last="Riley"] (2021, SG, Plymouth)</strong> Riley is very active on offense and her team will need her versatile defense. <strong>Ainsley Florence (2022, SF, Plymouth)</strong> Florence has really started to show signs of the bright young prospect that she is. If she shoots well, it will go a long way to helping Plymouth advance. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="178865" first="Sophie" last="Canen"] (2022, G/F, Saline)</strong> Canen has emerged as a player and prospect this season. Saline will need her to score a bit and defend at a high level in order to advance. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27971" first="Ella" last="Stemmer"] (2021, SG, Saline)</strong> Stemmer has shown the ability to put her team on her back, and is unquestionably, the best player in the school’s history. It will be fun to see how far she can take the Hornets. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147774" first="Jessica" last="Andrew"] (2022, SG, Brighton)</strong> Andrew has always been a shooter, but she’s added a defensive element to her game as well. If Andrew is on, Brighton is very dangerous. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="190706" first="Mary" last="Copple"] (2023, PG, Brighton)</strong> Copple is one of the exciting and dynamic young point guards in the state. Her future as a top prospect could start here. <h4>THE GAMES AND PREDICTIONS</h4> SEMIFINALS Wayne Memorial vs. Plymouth Prediction: Wayne Memorial Saline vs. Brighton Prediction: Saline REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Wayne Memorial vs. Saline Prediction: Saline This game is a true pick em, but I’ll go with Saline since I have to choose. This game would feature big time talent, clutch players, young stars, and 2 of the top coaches in the state.
