Prep Girls Hoops Dakotas wanted to mention some South Dakota prospects that haven’t been mentioned, or mentioned nearly enough. A random set of teams are covered from some recent games I’ve watched to keep up on the South Dakota action.
Ethan (B)
[player_tooltip player_id="188213" first="Ava" last="Lingemann"] - 5’6 - 2024 - point guard - Likes to attack the gaps from the top for kick-outs and to give the offense some early movement. Also, drives to the rim for her own scoring opportunity. Has range out to three and will take the shot consistently. Averages around 11 points per.
[player_tooltip player_id="188212" first="Hannah" last="Bartscher"] - 5’8 - SG - 2022 - Hannah will be adjusted correctly in our next rankings update. Is very active without the ball, looking to cut towards the hoop. Aggressive and accurate from three-point land — with exceptional range. Averages 17 points on 60% from the field.
Lexi Lingemann - 5’7 - SF - 2021 - Flies around defensively, using her arms well to defend the perimeter. Sprints the floor very hard and is a hard working prospect. Lexi tries her best to prevent the opposing offense from getting positive transition plays. A great anticipatory defender.
Colman-Eagan (B)
[player_tooltip player_id="261616" first="Josie" last="Mousel"] - 5’10 - 2023 - Just added to the prospect database, Josie is extremely long and athletic and a prospect to get excited about in the state. Elite quickness for such a long frame. High energy, long speed, and ability to finish in traffic with both hands. She most likely will be up above the upper half of the 2023 rankings in the next update.
White River (B)
[player_tooltip player_id="261993" first="Maleighya" last="Estes"] - 5’8 - SG - 2022 - An extremely impressive and creative scoring off-guard. Scoring around 21 points per game. She can do multiple crossovers and attack with a spin-off. The main takeaway from her game is that she is majorly skilled with the ball and has the aggressive mindset to go with it. She could go on a scoring tear next season. Has a toughness and scoring mentality about her. She’s a college prospect.
Dakota Valley (A)
[player_tooltip player_id="99782" first="Grace" last="Bass"] - 5’7 - SG - 2022 - Quietly a solid prospect in the state. Tough and fights relentlessly for boards and the ball. Good vertical and ability to hang in the air. A long defender that can stay in front on the drive.
[player_tooltip player_id="201470" first="Peyton" last="Tritz"] - 5’4 - PG - 2024 - Starting point guard as a Freshman. A prospect that glides with speed in the open court. Has to be a top 10 quickness prospect in the state. Excellent ball-handling and moves the ball around the perimeter with accuracy and speed.
[player_tooltip player_id="246511" first="Jorja" last="Van Den Hul"] - 5’10 - SF - 2023 - Jorja is apart of Dakota Valley’s future and present, as she’s a long athlete already producing 7.0 ppg., 4.4 rpg., and 1.2 stls. Has some good potential as a 2023 with her length. Could take a step forward and be more relied on next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="99786" first="Brooke" last="Carlson"] - 5’10 - PF - 2022 - Brooke is the inside and rebounding presence for Dakota Valley. Post and inside defense is her niche for the Panthers. Doesn’t score a ton but does the dirty work for the Panthers.
