TIER 2:
Grace Oliver Grace Oliver 6'2" | PF Noble & Greenough | 2024 State New E – Norwell/Lady Rivals – 6’1’’ – PF/SF
PGH Rank: #20
I have watched Oliver a few times this spring and over the weekend was the closest representation of the dominant force she was at Norwell during the winter. Oliver can take over on offense and defense, showing that with her size and physical gifts, she has top 10 potential. She was rotating on time and getting in proper help position. Constantly disrupting passes and protecting the rim, Oliver was an absolute force on defense. Oliver uses both hands well when she gets the ball inside. Her combination of length, athleticism, and ability to score over each shoulder is valuable, and when she asserts herself as she did over the weekend, her stock instantly rises.
Lizzy Gruber Lizzy Gruber 6'4" | PF Gardiner | 2023 State New E – Gardiner/Maine Attraction – 6’3’’ – C
PGH Rank: #31
Gruber is a sound post player who has a few go-to post moves under her belt when on the block. She has a soft touch around the rim and is strong enough where defenders cannot push her around down low. When I saw Gruber’s free throw form and her willingness to step out and shoot threes, I said, ” Oh boy!”. Her ability to snipe from that distance and knock down free throws at a high clip make Gruber the most well-rounded big in 2023. The shooting touch makes her unique, but she has elements of her game that I do not see too often with centers. Gruber always keeps the ball high when receiving the ball in the post or grabs a rebound. She also passes out of the post well. Gruber did a good job recognizing where the double was coming and getting the ball out quickly. Gruber is a unique big who can make a lot of noise this spring and has the potential to pass some of the bigs ahead of her in the rankings as she continues to develop.
Tier 1:
Sloane Ginevan Sloane Ginevan 5'10" | SG Falmouth | 2023 State New E – Falmouth/Maine Attraction – 5’10’’ – PG
PGH Rank: WL
Ginevan was jaw-dropping good. She plays with an edge on defense and smothers opposing guards with her length and size. Ginevan was pickpocketing good ball handlers and forcing momentum-shifting turnovers all weekend. She is a good athlete who can score at all three levels efficiently. Her burst when attacking the basket sticks out, and Ginevan’s upper body is so strong defenders bounce off of her when she is in pursuit of the rim. Her offensive versatility and willingness to play off the ball are what drew me to Ginevan. She does not need the ball to be effective. Ginevan has a sweet outside jump shot and is a legitimate catch-and-shoot sharpshooter. She is a tireless worker, whether it be shaking loose to get open or attacking the glass. Ginevan has physical and mental toughness and plays with attitude, and she was an intimidating presence at the guard spot. She is a two-way stud who had the gym buzzing the whole weekend.
