I’m going to break this down multiple ways starting with the All-Tournament Team as well as the Best Shooters, Scorers, and Playmakers and maybe a bonus or two because with so much talent, well, talent is everywhere but here are some of the top players that stood out multiple times but stay tuned, more will be coming
[player_tooltip player_id="160440" first="Mikayla" last="Parks"]-5’8 SG (Team Trae Young 2022) 2022
Parks has already committed to Kansas State and her ability to score in the flow will translate quickly at the next level because she understands how to create her shot as well as create shots for her teammates and with her deceptive first step, she’s hard to handle because she can attack, drop the mid to long-range as well as see the floor but she does it so smoothly that she’s put up numbers like I said, in the flow and here’s another one, she makes those around her better
Claire Graham-5’8 SG (Platinum Basketball 2022 Bruce) 2022
Graham impressed me on opening day at Duel For The Dynasty that was held in Fort Worth, which is where she seemed to be launching some of her threes here in Oklahoma. I love watching her shoot the ball, her form, as well as her release, gives her the ability to drop it whenever she wants against whoever she wants, and when you and she can take defenders off the dribble to score, come around picks as well as "catch and shoot"
Kemyah Maroney-5’10 SF (Platinum Basketball 2022 Bates) 2022
Maroney is one of many I could have chosen from this squad yet she’s long and athletic, as I say over and over, that’s the base and two things, watching her attack the basket over and over and finish after contact as well as outrebound taller players for putbacks, she outrebounds on both ends, what else could she show me. Well, the midrange, which s something of a lost art, and she can get to her spot and knock it down
[player_tooltip player_id="211894" first="Abby" last="Schroeder"]-5’8 G (Oklahoma Swish 2022 Knox) 2022
Schroeder also impressed me with her midrange jumper and she was consistently showing she could create her shoot under some heavy pressure yet she’s focused and doesn’t get distracted with a hand in her face and seeing her drop the pull-p jumper in transition sealed it. She also did a good of attacking the basket as well as making the right pass to the right person at the right time
Desiree Marshall-Penny-5’5 PG (Oklahoma Chaos) 2022
Penny drops dimes, I love that song yet I wouldn’t switch her game for anything because, well she’s a gamer and with her mindset, when it’s time to take over, once again it’s on. She sees the floor, controls the tempo, and is vocal on the court yet her range just opens things up, and watch her score in droves when needed was one of the best at the event. Back to the range, she can drop the long ball in transition with the stop and pop, with ease
Olivia Allen-5’6 CG (Shock 2022 Gold) 2022
Allen attacks the basket strongly and finishes acrobatically at times but she also understands how to mix it up so it helps that she has the slight hesitation to get defenders off-balance, it also helps she can drop the mid to long-range either in the set or while handling the ball in the open court. She also saw the floor and did a good job on the defensive ends as well
Second Team
Noel Brown-5’11 SF (Dynasty 2022 Black) 2021
Karina Marks-5’5 PG (AKYB Academy 2022 Elite) 2021
Tess Gallegos-5’7 CG (Texas Cagers Select 2022) 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="211876" first="Ashlyn" last="Evans-Thompson"]-5’9 SF (Oklahoma Swish 2022 Foreman) 2022
Smalls Goodeau-5’9 G (Shock 2022 Black) 2022
Emily Morrison-5’10 SF (Playmaker Express 2022) 2023
Third Team
Elizabeth Walton-5’7 SG (TNBA 17U Richman) 2023
Adreonna Green-5’7 G (AKYB Academy 2022 Select)
[player_tooltip player_id="95175" first="Ny’Era" last="West"]-5’8 CG (Colorado Prospect Academy 2022) 2022
