Class AA Player of the Year and All-State Selections

If you are looking for suspense, mystery or intrigue, you have arrived at the wrong place today. When it comes to selecting the Prep Girls Hoops Class AA Player of the Year for 2021, there is absolutely zero drama. Congratulations to of Duluth Marshall, whose senior season in high school basketball goes into the history books as one of the greatest ever in the state of Minnesota. Kneepkens has had a remarkable career, and her senior season was punctuated with multiple games in the 50-plus points range. It was the last game of her high school career, though, that will live on in the annals of Minnesota basketball as Kneepkens scored a state-record 67 points against Providence Academy. Gianna does so much more than score, of course. She is the consummate leader and teammate, with a skill set that extends deep and wide. But when you put up numbers like that in a televised state tournament game, you aren’t soon going to be forgotten. Each of our five selections for the Class AA All State team have had incredible careers. of Albany carried her team to a state championship in her final campaign. propelled Glencoe-Silver Lake to new heights. of Watertown Mayer was remarkably consistent all season. And was, as always, a resolute force at Fergus Falls. All five are Division 1 commits, which tells you all you need to know about their abilities. One thing you’ll note about the Prep Girls Hoops All-State selections is the age of some of the players. We don’t care what grade a player is in; we care about how well they played. That’s why 7th grader of Crosby-Ironton made our second team along with of Minnehaha Academy. 7th grader of Providence Academy is among our honorable mentions.
