1. Hannah Stuelke Hannah Stuelke 6'2" | PF Cedar Rapids Washington | 2022 State #41 Nation IA , 6’1, F, Cedar Rapids Washington, 2022–Hannah is a highly talented slasher/wing that has a rare skillset that isn’t seen very often. She will be playing her final season of AAU ball this year with the elite All Iowa Attack team. There are always going to be those players that you see from time to time that just stand out to you and catch your eye right from the get go. From the first few seconds I watched Hannah out on a court, I thought, “Wow this kid can play.” She is versatile in so many ways, and can play both inside and out. With her size, she can do a ton of damage on the inside. However, she has showcased the ability to play out on the wing and can be a dominant player out there. Her ball handling skills for her size are outstanding. She has an aggressive mentality every possession of every game to make something happen, and has a lot of confidence. She displays the ability to get to the rim, can finish with both hands, and is a great finisher. Hannah is also very explosive and athletic, and has tremendous strength. She can also step outside the 3-point line and hit shots out there, which makes her a lethal overall player. Not only can she score, but she also can pass the ball as well and can get a lot of dimes out to her teammates. It’s very evident she has a high basketball IQ and knowledge for the game, and this can be seen in both the transition and half court game. She hits the boards well, and can rack them up on both the offensive and defensive end. She can also block a lot of shots as well. There is no doubt that this kid should be listed on the Class of 2022 “Super 60” of ESPN’s HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings. She’s definitely the real deal, and will only be getting better as the years go on. This Washington HS player put up some solid numbers this high school season averaging a double double with a little over 21 PPG, 12 RPG, 3 APG, 2 SPG, and 1 BPG. She will be taking her talents to the University of Iowa in 2022, where she verbally committed to as a high school freshman. This forward has the potential to be a great player in the Big Ten at the NCAA DI level.
2. Jada Gyamfi Jada Gyamfi 6'1" | PF Johnston | 2022 State #76 Nation IA , 6’2, F, Johnston, 2022–Jada is another highly skilled, versatile forward/wing that has a ton of potential and a lot to offer. She will be playing her final season of AAU ball this year with the elite All Iowa Attack team. What caught my eye while watching her play for the first time was her versatility, and her mentality to play both sides of the floor efficiently and with great effort every possession. She is a very offensive minded player, and can be dynamic by being able to shoot the 3 ball consistently, but can also put the ball on the floor and finish in traffic with both hands. Her 3-point stroke is tremendous, and with her size, she can create a lot of issues for opposing teams both inside as a post and outside on the perimeter. Jada displays the ability to run the floor well, and can get many easy buckets in transition. She is a good passer for her size, and has good vision and a high basketball IQ. Her capability to block shots is incredible, and her length is tremendous. She can also rack up the boards on both ends of the floor. She spent her first two seasons of high school at Urbandale HS, and then recently transferred over to Johnston HS, where she had a solid season this 2020-2021 campaign. She averaged a little under 14 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, and 1 SPG. She will be taking her talents to the University of Iowa in 2022, where she verbally committed to this past July, following her sophomore year. This forward has the potential to be a great player in the Big Ten at the NCAA DI level.
3. Ryley Goebel Ryley Goebel 5'11" | SF Center Point-Urbana | 2022 State IA , 5’11, F, Center Point-Urbana, 2022–Ryley is a smooth, lanky, natural forward/wing that is a very exciting player to watch. She will be playing her final season of AAU ball this year with the elite Team Iowa team. Something that stood out to me right away while watching her play is that she has a very calm deamanor while playing, while also playing with a sense of urgency and aggressiveness. She can play both out on the wing and inside as a big. With the athleticism she has, she can really do a lot on the offensive end both in transition and in the half court, and has the potential to really expand her offensive game in years to come. Ryley can shoot the 3 ball, and has a good stroke. She can also hit the mid-range jumper as well. She displays the ability to utlize many great post moves and can finish at the rim well with both hands. She has good ball handling skills as well. She also can pass the ball, and can set her teammates up for good shots. She has tremendous length and a good wing span, has the knack to get her hands on a lot of passes, which can create total chaos on the defensive end for opposing teams. It’s very evident she likes the up-tempo, fast paced play as well. With a state championship under her belt, she is a proven winner and competitor. This CPU HS player put up some solid numbers this high school season with a little over 18 PPG, 9 RPG, 3 SPG, 2 APG, 1 BPG, while also shooting 58% from the floor. She will be taking her talents to the University of Northern Iowa in 2022, where she verbally committed to this past June, following her sophomore year. This forward has the potential to be a great player in the MVC at the NCAA DI level.
4. Taylor Veach Taylor Veach 5'11" | SF Central DeWitt | 2022 State IA , 5’11, F, Central DeWitt, 2022–Taylor is a naturally talented lefty that is both a guard and forward who is very fun to watch. She will be playing her final season of AAU ball this year with the elite Lady Martin Brothers team. A couple of seconds after seeing her play for the first time, it was very evident to me that she has a lot of natural skill. Her handle is tremendous, and she is very dynamic in terms of what she can do with the ball. Taylor can break down defenders, get to the rim, and finish some tricky drives with both hands. She has a smooth pure shooting stroke, and is a great 3-point shooter. She has a high basketball IQ, and it’s evident she is very knowledgeable of the game. She is also a good passer, and can create shots for her teammates. She displays the ability to be a tremendous defender as well, and causes a lot of disruption for opposing teams. It is also not uncommon to see her utilizing some post moves every now and then as well. She plays with a lot of energy, and it’s clear to me that she is a very good teammate and an unselfish player. She also has been recognized at the national level, as she was invited to the USA 16U Women’s Basketball Team Trials in Colorado a couple of years ago. This Central DeWitt HS player put up some solid numbers this high school season with 19 PPG, 6 RPG, 2 APG, and 2 SPG. She will be taking her talents to Illinois State University in 2022, where she verbally committed to this past November, after the first game of her junior season. This guard/forward has the potential to be a great player in the MVC at the NCAA DI level.
5. Reagan Barkema Reagan Barkema 6'0" | SF Roland-Story | 2022 State IA , 6’0, F, Roland-Story, 2022–Reagan is a talented sharpshooter that is both a forward/wing that has tremendous upside. She will be playing her final season of AAU ball this year with the elite All Iowa Attack team. Right when I saw her play in the 2021 state tournament, it was clear to me that she had a true passion for the game and has a great pure 3-point shooting stroke. She can fire them up in a hurry, has the ability to hit them consistently, and can make a lot of them. She also is an adpet ball handler, and can get to the rim and finish with both hands. She also displays the ability to run the floor well, and can get out in transition and finish easy buckets. Reagan can rack up the rebounds, and can cause havoc on the defensive end by getting steals. With her size at 6’0, she is going to become a dominant overall player on both ends of the floor, and has the capability to be a versatile, total complete player in years to come. It’s very evident that she is very unselfish, and she is a great team player. This Roland-Story HS player put up some solid numbers this high school season with 14 PPG, 5 RPG, 2 SPG, while also nailing 50 3-pointers in 22 games. She will be taking her talents to Bradley University in 2022, where she verbally committed to this past November, prior to her junior season. This forward/wing has the potential to be a great player in the MVC at the NCAA DI level.
