The Michigan state playoffs are complete. All the players fought through a crazy season and put on a tremendous show. The Final 4 in Division 3 was one for the ages. In the semifinals, Grass Lake technically beat Hemlock 2-0 due to a positive Covid test. On the other side of the bracket, Kent City defeated Calumet by a score of 59-53.In the championship game, Grass Lake picked up a hard fought win by a score of 52-50 over Kent City.

Bowers ended a legendary high school basketball career in the Final 4. She had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the round of 4. Bowers had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the title game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27985" first="Abrie" last="Cabana"] (2021, PG, Grass Lake)</strong>
Cabana will go down as one of the all time greats at Grass Lake. The floor general had 10 points and 5 rebounds in her final game.
<strong>Elli Djerf (2021, PG, Calumet)</strong>
Djerf had an excellent senior season and a tremendous performance in the Final 4. She finished the game with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244268" first="Madelyn" last="Geers"] (2024, SG, Kent City)</strong>
Geers will be a big part of the future of high school basketball on the west side of the state. In the semis, she had 14 points and 7 rebounds. Geers had 7 points and 4 rebounds in the final game.
<strong>Marybeth Halonen (2022, SG, Calumet)</strong>
Halonen was solid in the semis. She had 11 points and 6 rebounds in the game.

Harrison has been a huge part of Kent City’s success over the last couple of years. She was outstanding in the Final 4, averaging 15.5 points in the last 2 games.

Lutchka was a huge part of the Grass Lake championship win. She finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Lutchka was 4-6 from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"] may have just created a legend, in both Grass Lake and the state of Michigan as a whole. Let’s start with her numbers from the championship game. She had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Bargesser also added 5 steals and 2 assists. She got the job done on both ends of the floor in the title game. Bargesser made life difficult for her opponents on the perimeter and was tough to stop offensively. Bargesser showed leadership, poise, and control that was critical late in the game. She will be one of the most exciting players to watch in the midwest next season.
