To no one surprise, the Bismark Century girls basketball program won yet another North Dakota High School Activities Association Class A state championship, but let’s take a look at some of the individual winners from this year’s 2020-2021 season with the Class A girls basketball All-State First team selection.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="98659" first="Ryleigh" last="Wacha"]</strong> - Fargo Davies - (5’10/CG/2021) - Ryleigh has great size for her position. She can contribute at both ends of the court and has a knack for mixing up her game from inside back to the basket style to automatic outside jump shots. Whatever her team needs her to do she goes and does it. She’s a box score stuffer and walking double-double machine averaging 16 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.2 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="195719" first="Moriku" last="Hakim"]</strong> - Fargo Shanley - (6’2/C/2021) - Moriku believed by some to be just a raw prospect really showcased this year that she was a force to be reckoned with in the low post. Her height alone led her to be a real intimidator this year and with a handful of post moves to put the ball in the net she had a massive year in averaging 18.5 ppg. and 9.6 rpg. She proved that she was ready to take her game to the next level this year and moved from being a raw prospect to a low post punisher.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="98640" first="Ashley" last="Holen"]</strong> - Watford City - (5"10/SF/2021) - WDA Senior of the Year Athlete [player_tooltip player_id="98640" first="Ashley" last="Holen"] had a fantastic season this year. She was a 1,000th career point scorer and took Watford City all the way to the West Region Championship game. Ashley was even more hungry and assertive this year in scoring and being more aggressive on the glass in averaging 18.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="100419" first="Logan" last="Nissley"]</strong> - Bismark Century - (5’10/SF/2023 - Logan is the only sophomore on this list full of senior athletes. It should be noted that she had a monster season this year leading all of North Dakota girls in scoring with an astounding 21.3 ppg which is also the record in a single season at Bismark Century. Along with being an offensive threat, she adds so much versatility to her team averaging 7.2 rebounds 3.8 assists 3.8 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game in helping the Patriots to a 26-0 record.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="240853" first="Alex" last="Page"]</strong> - Grand Forks Red River - (6’0/SF/2021) - Alex is one of the most efficient scorers throughout the state of North Dakota in averaging 18.1 ppg. She has displayed an above-average basketball IQ all year in taking high percentage shots and using her size to her advantage in almost every game. Along with being an effective scorer, she crashed the boards hard in providing second chance opportunities for her team in 7.3 rpg and was a defensive beast in almost averaging 2 bpg.
