On Friday, April 23rd - the Ohio Girls Basketball Report held their annual Spring Special - a great way to begin the weekend at The Clash in Cincinnati. A few dozen college coaches were in attendance to watch some outstanding players - including these girls who stood out to our crew at PGH Ohio.
[player_tooltip player_id="214506" first="Tristan" last="Nash"] - Chippewa - Class of 2023
Tristan had a great day - shooting the ball extremely well, while showing an ability to play both guard positions at a high level. She had solid energy throughout her two games and competed on the defensive end of the floor. Nash made some great passes - creating a number easy buckets for her teammates.
[player_tooltip player_id="212901" first="Lannah" last="Prysi"] - Fairfield Christian Academy - Class of 2022
Prysi is a big and strong forward who plays with an impressive level of physicality. She a more-than-willing defender who was active getting deflections, blocking shots and rebounding the basketball. She also set some solid screens and was a good communicator as the anchor of her team.
[player_tooltip player_id="217319" first="Jaden" last="Tucker"] - Pickerington - Class of 2024
Tucker (featured image) has the talent to score quickly, in bunches. She is blur - who can truly get to the rim at will, when she wants to. The lightning quick guard is a good decision maker who anyone would love to have leading their team. Jaden is aggressively defensively - without putting herself in positions to fail from gambling or being out of place.
Demi Watson - Liberty - Class of 2023
Demi comes in the much-valued point-forward role. She is capable of grabbing rebounds on the defensive end and bringing the ball up the court to initiate the offense. She has good size to go with a will and ability to distribute to her teammates. Watson does a nice job of finishing through contact around the rim - especially against smaller defenders.
Janyah Bohanon - Trinity - Class of 2023
When we discuss passing ability - there were few players at the Spring Special that flashed better court vision than Janyah Bohanon. At over 6-feet tall, Bohanon has no problem seeing over defenders. She is outstanding off of the dribble as an attacker/playmaker and although she is in more of the slasher role right now - it is clear that she has the tools to become a successful jump shooter as her game continues to develop.
