I’ll drop a Top Performers, wait I don’t know what I’ll drop after these but rest assured, my evals are accurate based on what I saw and all players are from the 2022 class unless otherwise noted
Alayjha Bayonne-5’4 PG (Team Takeover NTX Red) 2021
Bayonne is athletic and she attacks the basket strongly from everywhere, even finishes the same way and by her going coast to coast under pressure for layups or assists, that speaks volumes about her handling of the ball. She’s under control, can hit teammates on the money going full speed, and showed a nice pull-up jumper
Princess Anderson Princess Anderson 5'7" | PG Beaumont United | 2022 State TX -5’8 PG (Houston Lady FAM Elite)
Anderson is technically not a new face, I paid to see the UIL State playoffs and as annoyed as I was by the announcers, I enjoyed watching her drop 31 on the eventual state champion Cedar Park (5A) because remember what Isay, it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against yet there is nothing like being there live and she showed me she could take defenders at Will and show no Grace finishing acrobatically and I guess the icing on the cake was her dropping the long ball in the clutch numerous times
Anahlynn Murray-5’7 PG (Houston Lady Roadrunners Barnett)
Murray is athletic and does a good job creating her shot under pressure and since her first step is deceptive and gets defenders off balance, she can take them off the dribble. I guess her ability to shoot the long ball also has something to do with that since if you play her too tightly, she attacks, if you give her some room, she drops it from deep
Sarah Harthon-5’4 PG (Lady-Thunder King)
Harthon technically isn’t a new player I’ve seen, only just got her name and there you have it, ROSTERS matter, but so does being heady and under control, because she plays within herself, understands how to run a team, and magically makes things happen in the flow like big shots or assists, even big steals but she gets after it and can shoot it as well
Myca Trail-5’9 SF (Lake City Pride 2022 Platinum)
Trail has the perfect last name because watching her trail on the break to get the ball off the rim and finish or score off the assist was just some of it but what a minute, she’s long and athletic, that is the base I use for certain profiles, I’m not a novice at this and she isn’t either because she can take defenders with either hand off the dribble and finish, with either hand but her pull-up jumper with a hand in her face was NICE
Demetria Smith-5’6 PG (Texas Elite 16U 3SSB)
Smith did a good job attacking the rim as well as dishing the ball off the attack. She handles the ball well, she can dribble under pressure with both hands and she controls the tempo well. Her ability to see the floor set teammates up for open shots yet she also showed good hands on the defensive end and came up with several steals that led to baskets
Da’Lonna Choice-5’6 SG (Team Lex Loaded) 2023
Choice did a good job showing a variety of skills, but her defense, on the ball, grabbed my attention from the start. She applies pressure and moves her feed, reads the screen, and understands how and when to switch yet she can score off the dribble, either by attacking the rim, she finishes strongly after contact or dropping the pulling up jumper and she does both by understanding how to create her shot
