High school basketball in Washington has provided the opportunity for players to get some live reps and get into some form of rhythm as the Spring season comes to a conclusion and we head into Summer. Some college prospects have been able to do more than "get in a rhythm" and instead they have been putting up some serious numbers and working to see their stock rise. A few super performers are listed out below.
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Super 2022 Performer</strong></span></h3>
6’1 Small Forward [player_tooltip player_id="27954" first="Avery" last="Watkins"] has been on an absolute roll in her shortened junior season. Watkins’ strength, length and athleticism is really able to standout in the high school setting. In Kennedy Catholic’s 59-28 win against Mount Rainier High School, she poured in a career high 41 points in an all around dominant scoring performance. Watkins is one of the top natural athletes in the state and holds Division 1 offers.
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Rising 2024 Prospect</strong></span></h3>
6’0 Power Forward [player_tooltip player_id="290580" first="Jazmyn" last="Shipp"] is a player I first saw last Summer when I sent out a tweet on her as a prospect to watch. She is now on the high school scene with Bonney Lake and she has been putting up some numbers. The 6’0 forward put up 29 points against Mt. Tahoma High School. She is strong and well as physical in the paint. Shipp has a soft shooting touch out to 17 feet to add to her attack. Shipp is also now in our database for PGH Washington.
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>2022 Stock Riser</strong></span></h3>
5’5 Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id="27942" first="Iliana" last="Moran"] from Hanford High School (Tri-Cities Washington) came through with another strong showing for her squad. She had 25 points, 5 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds in a win for Hanford over Chiawana. Moran is quick in transition making her a threat in fastbreak settings. She's also shown some ability to knock down he three pointer. A quality smaller college prospect in the 2022 class.
