I was going through the 2021 Border War rosters, I love to have rosters with names, numbers, class, and as much information possible because it makes it easy for me to do it the first time and yet I still manage to have typos but always remember, I'm an EVALUATOR first and I get their games right, based on what I've seen and truly comprehended and these were players that just did it every time I saw them yet I have another list coming but first
McKenzie Mathurin-5'9 CG (Swift 2024)
Mathurin is a #BCSLock, how easy was that especially since she has BCS offers on the table yet she has done some things in front of me in a variety of settings that just let me know what's coming. She scores off the dribble, creates her shot under pressure, and can knock the mid to long-range jumper down and she handles the ball, in the open court but her ability to see the floor, rebound and defend is no joke nor is the mental toughness she has shown at a young age
Elsie Larson-5'6 G (MO Phenom 15U Porter)
Larson played up and showed out in a number of ways, one of which was her ability to set the defender up and get them leaning with a deceptive first step in the halfcourt or a slight hesitation in the open court but either way, she attacked the basket multiple ways and showed she could finish after contact and the contact was definitely hard as she did it playing up against older players
Valerie Norwood-5'7 PG (Kansas United 2025 Soyez)
Norwood is a heady PG that sees plays before they happen, many probably don't get that yet she reads the floor very well and knows where her teammates will be, this gives her the advantage to lead the pass to set easy shots but her entry passes are also very good, she things effortlessly which is always a great sign for me and her understanding how to control the tempo makes what she brings to the table even better
Niyah Waters-5'9 G (Competitive Edge Elite)
Waters is one of those players who "doesn't realize how good she is" which is scary, not for me but for defenders because she's long and athletic, I couldn't leave that out and she attacks from every angle imaginable so that combined with her body control and playing UP told me a lot but what told me, even more, as she was fearless against the older players and if I didn't have a roster, I wouldn't have known she hadn't entered high school
Tyra McKennie-5'9 C (Griffin BB 2025 Elite)
McKennie is one of those players that just left a lasting first impression and I don't remember what the first thing was that sold me, maybe it was her grabbing an errant pass to finish with contact, or maybe it was her blocking a shot and going coast to coast to finish yet whatever it was, it brought back memories of a young WNBA superstar from Texas but she's long and athletic, has great timing, rebounds, and finishes and trust me, shall I drop it, #BCSLock
