Janavia Gage Janavia Gage 6'3" | C Huntsville | 2023 State TX -6’3 P (Lady Thunder-Ayers) 2023
Gage is one of those players I’ve already GAUGED because of a number of reasons the novice evaluator would miss and her DESIRE to go along with her college-ready frame as well as 75 inches and when you factor in she’s a sophomore, well all of those play a big part in her puzzle yet it’s puzzling to me that she keeps making jumps, rapidly and that can only mean she’s working and she wants it and I love things you can’t teach yet she absorbs what’s being taught and her dominance inside the paint is on the verge of something big
Wiliyah Everline-5’5 PG (Lady Thunder-Ayers) 2023
Everline made me chuckle when I told her she was on fire today and she responded “not the last game” yet her ability to create and drop the long ball coupled with her ability to shoot it was simply show-stopping earlier. She also did a great job attacking the basket multiple ways yet in the last game, the shot wasn’t falling as frequently so she switched up and threw crisp passes on the money for assists, she played on-ball defense and she filled in many blanks, so yes, she was on fire
Sybil McKay-5’8 G (3220 Elite-Campbell) 2023
McKay was just, how can I say this, a breath of fresh air because her “poise” on the court definitely left a lasting impression. Yeah, she hit the pull-up jumpers under pressure, she does a nice job setting the defender up and she also scored off of the dribble, finishing after contact for “and one” opps, that’s opportunities, but let me back up to the poise as she stays under control, she plays within herself, doesn’t force shots and the lost art of getting hers “in the flow” was definitely big
Taylor Spencer-5’6 G (Houston Lady Nets) 2024
Spencer For Hire was a hit, so is she as I take you back 35 years but this young lady has one of the best COD, change of direction, I have seen this club season and as I tweeted, it’s also cash on delivery meaning she delivers off the dribble. She has an explosive first step, she’s hard to contain, especially since she can shoot it from mid to long-range but what I also enjoyed was her body control as she hung in the air for some acrobatic finishes
Tailor Perkins-5’9 F (Houston Lady Nets) 2024
Perkins’s mom showed me a pic I tweeted about her a couple of years ago and after she told me, I’m thinking “I knew I had seen her” and her squad was one of the main reasons I “pulled up” to the event. The team is athletic, so is Perkins yet she’s also powerful, and watching her score over and over in the paint, rebound on both ends of the court, finishing on putbacks all left a lasting impression, and then she had a block party, yeah I do remember TP
Aaliyah Williams-5’6 G ( Texas Made) 2025
Williams proves yet again that TALENT IS EVERYWHERE with or without a hashtag yet off the top, I knew what I was looking at because she played the passing lane and scored multiple ways, off the dribble, creating her shot in the set, the stop, and pop in transition as well as after the steal, playing that passing lane and she finished after the lick. When I found out she was Class Of 2025, that was even more impressive because she’s doing it playing up and I see her going UP, UP, and AWAY to become a real SUPERGIRL
