The class of 2022 saw some new names added this spring. Here are a few of those girls who certainly deserve your attention.

[player_tooltip player_id="295024" first="Cayla" last="Digsby"] | Mallard Creek | CG

Digsby had a hot month of May getting well deserved attention for her shooting ability, especially when it comes from behind the three point line. She does a great job showing her vision of the court as she makes smart cuts into the gaps on defense. She isn’t just a shooter, though, as she runs the floor well making sure she’s available in transition for some fast break points. She hustles back on defense showing off her shot blocking ability just when her opponents think they have some easy points in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="295025" first="Gabreyel" last="Cook"] | Hickory Ridge | CG

Cook seems to be a magnet for the ball with the way she can constantly grab steals on defense. She hustles after every ball that she has any kind of chance of grabbing and usually comes up with the steal. She pushes that up the court going the opposite direction taking it all the way to the hoop herself or finding her open teammates. She uses her speed to get by her opponents, and she also has some nice ball moves she uses to create separation from her defenders to show off her shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="295028" first="Layla" last="Wall"] | Hopewell | PG

Wall is a dynamic ball handler who finds her way to the paint on most offensive plays. She can make her way to the basket looking for her own shot showing off some great ball moves and fakes along the way. She can also penetrate the paint to distract defenders while she dishes it to her teammates for their own buckets. She has a high motor, and her decision making abilities keep up with her speed. On defense, she is tenacious picking the pocket of her opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id="295031" first="Laney" last="Beale"] | Chapel Hill | PG

Beale (pictured above) is a lefty who can do a little bit of everything that you want from a guard. She pushes the ball up the court with speed, and she finds the gaps in the defense. She has a nice shot from behind the three point line that is certainly hard to defend. Her ability to find her open teammates is an asset you want in a point guard. She anticipates passes on defense jumping in front of them to grab steals that are immediately taken to the other end of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="295033" first="Kyndall" last="Shivers"] | Marvin Ridge | CG

Shivers has been one of the better shooters I have seen this spring putting up three point shots no matter where she is on the court, and she shows no fear when putting up the shot against a defender who is close by. She finds ways to get to the open areas on the court with and without the ball. She is aggressive when she drives to the hoop doing well adjusting her moves to avoid defenders. On defense, she tracks the ball well jumping into passing lanes and blocking shots.
