One of those programs: the NJ Shoreshots, have three really strong teams that feature some top-end talent. Having already gone over the 17U team, we move onto the 16U team which has some very impressive names that are going under-the-radar across the state.
Let’s go to the tape to tell you why you should be looking out for some of these names for this coming high school season.
We head over to Rumson-Fair Haven for our first player, rising junior Dylan Cahill, a versatile player who features both at the guard and forward position. Something that immediately stood out when watching her on tape is her passing ability.

As she’s a versatile player in terms of where she can play, that’s also allowed her to become a strong all-around player, really pushing the tempo on the floor and playing a selfless style of basketball that has the dishing the ball to teammates a lot.
She can also score at a great clip, and Cahill is especially strong driving into the lane. You can see it that she’s got a fire in her eyes playing and she’s a playmaker in the making.

Someone who’s much more of a true guard on this team is Cinnaminson’s Brooke Sztenderowicz, one of the best three-point options on the squad.
The rising sophomore averaged over one made three a game during the 2021 high school season, but she’s much more than just a three-point specialist.
Here are my highlights from this past weekend NJ Showcase!! I learned so much from my amazing coaches, and had a great time playing with my team!!!💙🧡@MBHoops10 @laurenbowls @ShoreshotsGirls @traceysabino13 https://t.co/sa3Eq1C7Oh

Sztenderowicz likes to shoot the elbow jumper from the foul line, those easy 17-footers that she can create space driving into the lane before pulling up.
She’s also a great rebounder, a fantastic free throw shooter and someone with great court vision who makes strong defensive stands in key moments.
We’ll finish off with talking about Sarah Hughes, a rising junior guard from Ranney who has looked especially strong so far in this AAU season. She seems to be everywhere at once watching her highlights.

Hughes has a very smooth shot and a very soft touch on her shooting release. It looks effortless for her with the ball and on a team as fundamentally sound as this team is, she shines in a big way.
She’s a precision passer and looks very strong and confident with the basketball, which shows a lot of maturity in a player that’s now going to be looked up to as an upperclass leader on Ranney come next season.
Hughes plays a strong brand of defense, but it’s her offense that’s really made her stand out. She’s an electric watch without a doubt.
Keep an eye out for this team for the rest of this AAU season. They’re going to keep raising eyeballs of people across New Jersey.
