It’s June! Which means trade in your club jersey, soccer jersey, lacrosse jersey. Loosen the track spikes. Lace up the high tops. It’s time for school hoops!
The women’s basketball program at Regis University hosted the first of their two high school team camps this week. Some players have clearly kept the rust off and some teams are already showing chemistry. Here are the players in midseason form:

[player_tooltip player_id="95175" first="Ny’Era" last="West"] - Rangeview - 2022

She’s done it three times in her high school career but to see her reach 30 points in a running clock summer game was the highlight of the camp. I can’t believe the arsenal of high quality finishing moves. She was the best player in the camp. Hard to imagine a 35% three point shooter where the three is the defense’s better choice on what to give up. West can hurt you there or kill you in the lane. Splitting defenders, euro stepping or pro hopping to the basket, creating for teammates, she’s on another level. I can’t wait to see where she ends up playing in college out of her sure-to-grow list of options.

[player_tooltip player_id="117703" first="Audra" last="Vine"] - Horizon - 2022

Vine does exactly what you want a point guard to do. She creates for others (3.8 APG), scores when needed (14.3 PPG), threatens from outside (33% career three point shooting), anticipates on defense (2.8 SPG), and limits turnovers (1.5 A/T Ratio). You’re getting high energy and basketball IQ with this serious prospect.

Haven Kutch - Lakewood - 2022

Her numbers don’t jump off the page from last season, around 4 points and 4 rebounds, but as a talented nearly six footer (5’11") expect her prospects to rise sharply this year. There’s a big role coming for Haven. She’s showing she’s ready for it by embracing Lakewood’s high pressure brand of basketball and by drilling the outside shots she used to pass up.

Bri is a ruthless defender with not only terrific energy herself, but she’s an "energy-giver" as her coach, Chris Poisson, likes to say. She truly makes the Tigers a high-energy team while also contributing 8.6 points and hustling for nearly three steals and five deflections per game.

[player_tooltip player_id="216723" first="Taylin" last="Serlen"] - Standley Lake - 2024

After a big freshmen campaign (13 PPG, 10 RPG), this bruising 6’1" post is adding confidence and versatility to her game. Serlen had a nice camp averaging 15 points, 4 blocks 3 steals, and 8 rebounds. She’s efficient, too, at 1.5 points per shot last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="118728" first="Brooke" last="Meeks"] - Arvada West - 2023

It’s fun to see the 5’10" combo guard play ahead of her years as a leader for the Wildcats. With her range, Meeks will have no trouble adjusting as the college game moves the three-point line back. With her length, Meeks can guard three or even four positions.[caption id="attachment_296735" align="alignright" width="150"] [player_tooltip player_id="118728" first="Brooke" last="Meeks"][/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="95233" first="Alexei" last="Trujillo"] - Westminster - 2023

She had 17 and 19 point performances in the camp continuing where she left off last year averaging over 17 point per game.

[player_tooltip player_id="145406" first="Amanda" last="Neff"] - Arvada West - 2022

Neff has been a main staple who’s led the Wildcats from welterweight to heavyweight in the 5A conversation. Despite how competitive the 2022 class is, 5’10" prospects who can shoot at a high clip and are strong enough to defend in the paint or outside will have opportunities next year. Amanda is a tough matchup for sure.[caption id="attachment_297063" align="alignright" width="150"] [player_tooltip player_id="145406" first="Amanda" last="Neff"][/caption]

Ashley Alverez - Westminster - 2024

Ashley’s got the chance to get into double digit scoring for the Wolves this year after a great freshmen season (8.0 PPG, 7.0 RPG).

Mia Sanchez - Westminster - 2024

Mia proves that the Wolves have a whole pack of scoring threats. She’s been consistently in the 8-12 point range.

Genesis Sweetvine - Rangeview - 2022

Genesis gives Rangeview another very quick scoring option and it looks like the 9.2 PPG incoming senior has been working on her three point shot over the off-season.

[player_tooltip player_id="210293" first="Brynae" last="Stewart"] - Pine Creek - 2023

Pine Creek is quietly brewing up a storm and Stewart, along with the incoming prospects listed below, is a big reason why. The 5’9" guard has already booked an 11.4 PPG season and does so much more with 7.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 2.9 SPG.

I noticed some incoming class of 2025 risers you’ll want to know. Introducing:

Avery Harrison - Arvada West

Saylor Swanson - Arvada West

Brooklyn Stewart - Pine Creek

Leekaya Perryman - Pine Creek

The teams who looked the sharpest at this early point in the summer were:

Chaparral

Rangeview

Regis Jesuit

Pine Creek (Pine Creek went a combined 10-0 in two camps this week!).
