This marks the one-year anniversary from when their initial watchlist first hit the website, and it's the first time we've done a traditional Top-100 list without any type of watchlist attached to it. As it relates to the 2024 power forward and center groups, there are 27 ladies who have acquired a spot within the Top-100. Seven of them are new to any type of 2024 list on PGH Indiana. With a full Spring season "in the books" for the first time since 2019, it helped to provide more clarity as to who the better prospects are throughout the state. Below is a look at those 27 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis of the newcomers and a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in March. <table style="border-collapse: collapse; Instead, we are focused on taking a Top-50 list plus a 50-player watchlist, and molding that into a more traditional Top-100 list. Even still, there are seven young ladies at the power forward and center positions who are entirely new to any rankings list we've done in 2024 over the last year. They are highlighted below, and if you know them, I think you'd agree they all belong here. [player_tooltip player_id="298257" first="Journee" last="Brown"], Seymour H.S. - Journee possesses a nice combination of size, strength, some athleticism, and skill. She has broad shoulders and looks like she can still get more powerful, she moves well in most directions at her size, plus she has some touch/skill in the mid-post and on the low-block. As she continues to develop her game, look for her to play more facing the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="298253" first="Catherine" last="Cline"], Cathedral H.S. - Catherine is a talented multisport athlete who plays with a great deal of versatility on the basketball court. She is extremely long and wiry, somewhat bouncy, and she moves well in all directions. She is a tough matchup in the mid-post because of her ability to get to the rim with ease, but she is also fairly comfortable around the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id="298254" first="Megan" last="Czarnecki"], Silver Creek H.S. - With several graduation losses, Megan could see a big uptick in playing time this coming season. She is a long, wiry strong, fairly bouncy athlete who moves well in most directions. She is primarily a 15-foot-and-in forward right now, and she's willing to play inside, but she has the athletic potential to eventually stretch her game to the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id="298264" first="Tori" last="Fee"], Seymour H.S. - Tori is the second 2024 Seymour frontline prospect listed here, and she has some similarities to classmate [player_tooltip player_id="298257" first="Journee" last="Brown"] (above). Tori has an athletic frame, length, and wiry strength. Their differences are a little more skillfully. Tori looks to post on the low-block a bit more often, though she can play in the mid-post. She also has some touch facing the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="298261" first="Tia" last="Phinezy"], Fort Wayne Snider H.S. - For the last year or so, you've read a lot about the guards/wings at Snider High School. Tia is a frontline prospect in that strong 2024 class the Panthers field each night. She has tremendous length, wiry strength, and she's athletic in all directions. She is still developing her skillset away from the basket, but she is an active rebounder and shot-blocker. [player_tooltip player_id="298259" first="Addie" last="Shank"], Fort Wayne Bishop Luers H.S. - Addie is a strong, tough-nosed, physical front-liner who goes to battle each game. She loves seeking contact, she establishes herself on the block, both offensively and defensively, but she also has some skill and touch in the mid-post. She's a player you can't take off the floor, because she always finds a way to be productive. [player_tooltip player_id="298267" first="Dominique" last="Stilley"], Concord H.S. - Dominique is a brand new name to me, as I saw her for the first time in late-May. She is an extremely long and wiry kid with some athleticism. She plays with a nice motor, she tries to play physical despite needing more strength, and she flashes skill at all three levels. She is probably best in the mid-post, but she can step outside and knock down a 3-pointer. Keep an eye on... [player_tooltip player_id="239347" first="Payton" last="Benge"], Plainfield H.S. - Payton is a coach's daughter, and you can see that quickly in her play. She does a lot of technical and fundamental things very well. She is strong, tough-nosed, and is willing to be physical inside. At the same time, she possesses good touch to 3-point range, she's a solid passer, and she defends hard. [player_tooltip player_id="177319" first="Kaylie" last="DeHaven"], Northridge H.S. - Kaylie missed the Summer of 2020 because of a late-June knee injury. This Spring she was back in action, and she flashed a great deal of potential. She is incredibly long, wiry strong, fluidly athletic, and bouncy. She can finish in a variety of ways around the basket, plus she has some touch to 15-feet. [player_tooltip player_id="176407" first="Sarah" last="Gick"], Benton Central H.S. - Sarah is a skillful low-block to mid-post center with an outstanding motor and toughness, but what's most impressive about her game is that she puts as much attention into the defensive end of the floor as the offensive end. She does a nice job helping from weak-side, plus she defends ball-screens well. [player_tooltip player_id="201885" first="Faith" last="Wiseman"], Indian Creek H.S. - Faith is incredibly intriguing because she's one of those kids who is still growing, so her best days are likely well-ahead of her. Still, though, she is skilled at her height, she moves well in most directions, and she plays tough and physical inside, despite being somewhat slender. As she finishes growing, watch out.
