In the heart of Seattle you have some of the top schools when it comes to basketball, on both the girls and boys side. These schools have created a community of amazing basketball players. Here are the top Metro scorers of the 2021 season.

Thiers is a 6’2 senior forward from Roosevelt Highschool, who scored 20 points per game and grabbed 12 rebounds. She was the leading scorer in the conference and a top rebounder. With a shortened season she lead her team to a 6-3 record overall. Even with a tough few loses Thiers showed how tough she is by never giving up and battling on both ends of the floor until the whistle was blown. Her fearlessness made her a tough competitor and teams had a hard time keeping her off the glass.

Reed is a 5’5 Senior Guard from Franklin Highschool, who scored 16.7 points per game with a season high of 29. Reed had a great season leading her team to a 9-2 record. What impressed me the most about her is her ability to protect the ball. As a scoring point guard she keeps her turn overs low and plays with a a high IQ. She has a nice jump shot but does not settle for outside jump shots, she finds way to get to the rim or a open mid range. Also very quick and shifty she is great on both ends of the court.
Vida Rack
Rack is a 6’0 Freshman from Nathan Hale Highschool, who was on of the top scorer in Metro as just a freshman. Scoring about 11.8 points and grabbing 5.5 rebounds Rack is starting to make a name for herself to start her high school career. She also showed off her defensive skill with a season high of 4 blocks and 3 steals. She will be a fun player to watch as she continues her career.
Maxine Sarmiento
Sarmiento is a 5’5 Junior guard from Franklin Highschool, who scored 11 points per game on the season. She is a player who likes to shoot the 3 with most of her points coming from jump shots. She also shoots over 50% from 3 and has multiple games with 4 3’s made. Sarmiento is a catch and shoot type of player but has the ability to create her own shot if needed. I think she will have a strong senior season next year.
