We’ve gotten the opportunity to check out what’s going on at United AAU already this month, taking a closer look at their 17U Platinum team.
That’s one of two 17U teams that United has put out this season as the 17U Diamond team is as talented and has some young budding talent that will be big impact pieces on their respective high school rosters.
Let’s go to the tape to explore more about how these players have stood out from the competition so far this AAU season.
We start off with rising senior guard Daniela Peralta from Union Catholic. The 5-7 point guard is a multi-sport athlete, a state champion in track & field as well. She’s a great all-around guard, playing with confidence and poise from the top of the key.
2022 Daniela Peralta with a nice showing this weekend @hgsl_girls Spring Showcase. Handled pressure, got to the rim, and banged the 3. Check out her highlight film from this past high school season. https://t.co/eulMMDAczt

She shoots the three well and can hit it from anywhere outside the perimeter, but that’s just one of several facets of her game. She’s someone who handles contact well going into the lane and is a strong finisher.
Peralta is a great clutch-time player as she’s really well in pressure-packed situations and she plays with her emotions on her sleeve. Next season is going to be a big one for Peralta and she’s going to shine on Union Catholic.
From Peralta, we move to a pair of rising junior guards from Watchung Hills who happen to be a dynamic duo of sisters, Ava and Giana Lobozzo.
The two saw increased playing time and production this past high school season, and the AAU season is their proving ground to secure starting spots for Watchung Hills this coming fall. Ava is a proven shooter and shoots the ball well from the perimeter.
Ava is also a strong passer and has great court vision which allows her to dish the ball off to teammates with ease to get a quick basket.
Giana crashes the boards often despite her 5-5 frame and is very physical and aggressive on the defensive end, causing a lot of turnovers from steals. She was a force to be reckoned with in the paint and it created nightmares for opponents.
Both are well-rounded guards who can just about do anything on the court, though you’ll see Giana more often dominating the paint and Ava running the point and cashing in from deep.
They draw contact well and shoot the ball well from the free throw line. The twin duo is going to make a big breakthrough this coming high school season and will be a pair of players to keep tabs on across the state.
We’ll be revisiting United’s program soon, so stay tuned for more content.
