Coach Clinton Lassiter always has some quality college prospects and this summer was no different. I came across his 17U team at the Insider Exposure’s Atlanta Summer Slam which featured three promising bigs. 2022 Sophia Fontaine Sophia Fontaine 6'2" | PF Putnam Science | 2023 State New E is joined by two 2023’s in Chinenye Odenigbo Chinenye Odenigbo 6'6" | C Noble & Greenough | 2023 State New E and Marina Greaney Marina Greaney 6'3" | PF Bedford | 2023 State New E and the trio gave opponents fits all summer. Check them out.
Marina Greaney Marina Greaney 6'3" | PF Bedford | 2023 State New E , 6’3″, 2023
Very promising front court player that could play multiple positions at the next level. She is tough and fiesty and not afraid to get physical and mix it up inside or dive on the floor for loose balls. She plays well in the pick and roll, setting good picks and rolling to the hoop. She can make shots in the paint and step out to the three point line as well. Aggressively looks for her shot when she gets the ball and crashes the boards on both ends. 2022 Sophia Fontaine Sophia Fontaine 6'2" | PF Putnam Science | 2023 State New E is joined by a pair of 2023’s in Chinenye Odenigbo Chinenye Odenigbo 6'6" | C Noble & Greenough | 2023 State New E and Marina Greaney Marina Greaney 6'3" | PF Bedford | 2023 State New E and the trio gave their opponents fits all summer.
Chinenye Odenigbo Chinenye Odenigbo 6'6" | C Noble & Greenough | 2023 State New E , 6’5″, 2023
Chinenye is a legit 6’5″ post player with tremendous potential. She is a bit raw offensively but she establishes deep post position and has decent footwork. When she gets the ball she made strong moves attacking the rim, but also made the right passes when necessary. She showed a soft touch and the ability to finish in traffic. She uses her length well to alter and block shots and looks like an above average athlete. She already has some D1 offers in her bag.
Sophia Fontaine Sophia Fontaine 6'2" | PF Putnam Science | 2023 State New E , 6’2″, 2022
Sophia was very impressive in the game I saw against Boo Williams. She’s a very versatile player so you can basically just put her on the court with 4 other players and let her do her thing. She’s very long and is an exceptional athlete. She used her wingspan to disrupt things defensively, playing strong on ball defense and being disruptive in the passing lanes. She boxed out well but also just jumped over people for rebounds. She didn’t get a lot of touches offensively but showed off some decent ball handling and slashing ability.
