Insider Exposure Summer Slam: Day 1 Standout 2022 Guards

Insider Exposure Summer Slam included three full days of some great competition. Here are some of the standout guards in the class of 2022 that I saw on day 1. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Jacquelyn-Dejesse-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627691937.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-312313 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Jacquelyn-Dejesse-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627691937-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="172874" first="Jacquelyn" last="DeJesse"] (Lady Attack Elite, PG) is a knockdown shooter coming right out to show that off at the start of the game. She controls the tempo of the game moving well with the ball, and she shows off her IQ moving without the ball to keep the play going. She is a tough defender as well keeping her opponents close enough to deflect dribbles and passes making it difficult for them to get by her. Maya Chocano (Lady Attack Elite, SG) continues to show off her ability to play many positions<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Maya-Chocano-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627692106.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-312318 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Maya-Chocano-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627692106-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> on the court handling the ball, posting up on the block, and draining some deep shots. She was aggressive battling for rebounds, and she certainly didn’t shy away from contact when driving the ball. She dives on the floor going after loose balls as well showing off her hustle that many coaches love to see. [player_tooltip player_id="201035" first="Ashanti" last="Lynch"] (FBC Carolina Elite Mel, PG, pictured above) converted three points the old fashioned way muscling her way to the basket. She is quick moving towards the ball, especially any ones that are loose on the floor and up for grabs. She went coast to coast with the ball before her opponents even seemed to know she was coming. She runs with such a high motor the full game. She had a nice spin move in the paint off of a rebound where she gave her self another chance to score some points. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Laney-Beale-1-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627692165.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-312320 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Laney-Beale-1-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627692165-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="295031" first="Laney" last="Beale"] (FBC Carolina Elite Adidas Adams, PG) comes right out from the jump finding the weak spots in opposing defenses driving the ball to the hoop. She makes such smart decisions in transition knowing exactly how and when to make her passes. The lefty showed off a nice change of speed after grabbing a steal to score in transition. Her defense made sure to shut down an opponent who was in the middle of a scoring streak when she checked in. [player_tooltip player_id="292481" first="Riley" last="Corcoran"] (FBC Carolina Elite Adidas Adams, SG) is a patient passer waiting for the play to<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Riley-Corcoran-1-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627692226.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-312322 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/Riley-Corcoran-1-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1627692226-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> develop correctly to dish the perfect pass to her teammates. She had a nice side step to get open and show off her jump shot. This was after she read the defense well knowing exactly where to go to score.
