LBI Summer Showcase: 2022 Guards

LBI Summer Showcase kicked off the July live period in North Carolina. Here are some of the standout guards from the class of 2022. [player_tooltip player_id="292481" first="Riley" last="Corcoran"] (FBC Carolina Elite Lyn, SG, pictured above) knows how to keep her eyes pealed on the court looking for her teammates. She can grab rebounds and immediately push it up the court for someone filling in the lanes in transition. She has a nice shot from behind the three point line that she shows off, especially after finding the openings on the court. Her hands are constantly causing problems on defense deflecting passes so her opponents can’t get a play going. [player_tooltip player_id="169258" first="Amore’" last="Kirkland"] (Carolina Flames 17U Nike, PG) is a nice ball handler showing off her ability to control the tempo of the game. She dictates where her teammates should go, and she knows how to slow the ball down when her team needs to or speed it up when her team has the opportunity. She moves well without the ball, too, knowing where to make her cuts to get open. Madison Wieboldt (Carolina All Stars, PG) knows how to create separation between her and her defenders to show off her shot. She even crashes the boards to grab rebounds, and knows how to put them right back up. She can drive all the way to the hoop showing off a nice floater getting her shot up and over her defenders. Carmen Moore (Carolina All Stars, PG) hustles back in transition making sure she’s available for some fast break points. She did a great job with repositioning herself after making her passes to get open and show off her jump shot. She certainly doesn’t shy away from driving through contact to battle for some points.
