Ana Pinkerton – Class of 2025 – Wadsworth
Pinkerton was one of many good young guards at the Ohio Summer Showcase on July 18th. She has a quick first step and routinely made the correct play with the ball in her hands. She has a high motor and showed no signs of fatigue throughout the competitive portions of the day. Ana can play both guard spots but is more natural with the ball in her hands as a PG.
Kenzie Smith – Class of 2025 – Norwalk
There were some outstanding players from the Norwalk area – Kenzie Smith was certainly one of them. The combo-guard is a really good passer with great court vision and instincts. Kenzie is strong and does a nice job of playing through contact with her shoulders. She plays the passing lanes well and is tough in transition as a playmaker and finisher.
Laila Manchester – Class of 2026 – Loudonville
Although Manchester has a lot of work to do (she is only entering 8th grade), she shows the makings of being another very good post player at Loudonville. Laila is long and lanky, but already has some basic post moves with both hands, does a nice job of rebounding and blocking shots and runs the floor very well.
Lillian Weikle – Class of 2025 – Clear Fork
Weikle is a good shooter from the perimeter – especially with her feet set in catch-and-shoot situations. She is a solid ball-handler, although she is more comfortable off of the ball as a wing. Lillian is a willing rebounder from the perimeter. She also shows that she can use her length and vision to find her open teammates when they cut or move away from the basketball.
Haley Lorenzo (pictured above) – Class of 2025 – Barberton
Lorenzo has the potential to be a very good scorer as her high school career progresses. She is very fast with the ball in her hands – covering a lot of ground in the open floor. With her knack for making plays, one would think that she could help her HS team at Barberton sooner than later.
