The Miami area and its suburbs have a lot of basketball talent. That is why I would like to continue to look at more names coming out of the region.
I expect some of these prospects to step into the spotlight this season. Many of the following are replacing talented players from the 2021 class. Therefore, the opportunity awaits. Please take a look at part one by clicking here. The Magic City is just too big for one article!
Emily Mayor - Lourdes Academy
2022 Emily Mayor returns to Lourdes Academy as the team’s leading scorer. The 5-foot-9 guard/forward averaged 11.8 points,4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 38 percent from the floor. Moreover, Mayor went 30-of-86 (36 percent) from deep. Against Somerest Academy Silver Palms (16-9), she scored a season-high 24 points and went 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. In addition, Mayor posted a double-double of 13 points and ten assists against SLAM! (11-10). I would like to see her shoot better overall to be an everyday two guard. However, Mayor rebounds at a high rate. She will be the lone senior that played significant minutes for the team. Look out for 2024 Luciana Picasso as well. The 6-foot forward averaged 7.6 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the field last season. Her size in the frontcourt is
Jim’Miyah Branton - SLAM!
2025 Jim’Miyah Branton came right in and led the Titans in scoring; averaging 12.5 points per game. The 5-foot-7 point guard scored a season-high 21 points against Mater Academy Charter (13-6). Moreover, Branton scored in double-figures in 15 of 20 games. Her consistency and varsity experience gives her an edge moving forward.
Annalisse Lindsay - Palmer Trinity
2024 Annalisse Lindsay is an impressive player on multiple fronts. First of all, she is a captain on a team that went 12-8 last season. Lindsay is also 5’11 with length at the forward position. She averaged 7.8 points and a team-best 9.4 rebounds per game. Against Hialeah, Lindsay scored 13 points and had a season-high 20 boards. In addition, she posted six other games with ten or more rebounds. She joins 2024 Jada Leon and 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="91640" first="Emily" last="Montes"] on an up and coming Palmer Trinity team.
Kalia Harrington - Mater Lakes Academy
2021 [player_tooltip player_id="244150" first="Kaylee" last="Llanos"] is gone. That leaves 2024 Kalia Harrington as the Bears’ lead returning scorer. The 5-foot-8 guard forward averaged 10.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game last season. Against Dr.Krop (14-9), she scored a season-high 20 points while shooting 8-of-14 from the field. She also added nine games with six or more rebounds. An active defender, Harrington recorded 36 steals. With her size and length, she could make a difference at multiple positions.
