Players of the Year: (Shared by Jayda Curry Jayda Curry 5'6" | PG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA and Brooke Demetre Brooke Demetre 6'3" | SF Mater Dei | 2021 State #5 Nation CA )
2021, 6’4, PF/C, Harvard Westlake HS, KiKi Iriafen KiKi Iriafen 6'4" | C Harvard Westlake | 2021 State #11 Nation CA – (Committed to Stanford) Kiki is a super skilled post with a bevy of talents in the paint, agile, fast strong and very aggressive on the floor and it dominate in every way. She can run the floor seal her opponent and score, then run the floor and pin your shot on the backboard. She has great hands in the paint and can finish over the left and right shoulder as well as turn and face you with a nice 8 to 10 midrange shot over her opponent.
2021, 5’11, PG, West Torrance HS, Anaya James Anaya James 5'9" | PG West Torrance | 2021 State CA – (Committed to U of Pacific) Anaya is that long and slender point guard with excellent vision and savvy to her game which allows for her to be so good. She can create off the dribble, she can stop and pop the midrange shot, but her specialty is coming down the floor and giving her teammate the most nicest dime ever for a basket. She is the coaches dream at the point guard, because she is a two-way player, she can lock you up in a heartbeat and showed that many times this past weekend. She can shoot from all three level on the floor and there is not much more we can say, she will do great things at U of Pacific.
2021, 6’3, PF, Lynwood HS, Rayah Marshall Rayah Marshall 6'4" | PF Lynwood | 2021 State #14 Nation CA – what can I say, she is the all-around player that is hard to stop on the perimeter and in the paint. She can catch and seal, she swings thru and gets to the rim for a bucket and she is hard to stop on the floor period with the ball in her hands. Her floater game was fun to watch over the front of the rim off the drive, but one thing she improved on was the pull up three point shot. We enjoyed watching her play, she will be special at USC when she arrives.
2023, 6’2, CG, Windward HS, Judea Watkins Judea Watkins 6'1" | CG Windward | 2023 State #1 Nation CA – JuJu is a problem, no matter what you throw at her, she is gonna find a way to get a bucket for her team. She is lethal getting to the rim, she can finish thru contact to get the hoop and the harm. She is a threat to score from all three levels on the floor and she is very skilled with the ball in her hands. Her defensive side of the floor is improving, this will come with age, she is the total package and has shown it all year long.
2022, 6’1, SF, Etiwanda HS, Daisia Mitchell Daisia Mitchell 5'11" | SF Etiwanda HS | 2022 State CA – is an issue on the floor as well for the opposing team, she has the ability to handle the ball, shoot it and slash to the rim to finish thru contact. She has great size and uses it against her opponents at every waking moment, Daisia is special, she is still young and her game is just starting to develop and she is one of the most athletic wing forwards in her area. She is growing in her game each and every time I see her play, looking forward to this next season coming.
Kennedy Smith Kennedy Smith 6'0" | PF Etiwanda | 2024 State CA – 2024
Smith has very good size already. She’s got all the tools to be an intimidating presence in the paint. She runs the floor well and is active around the rim; strong finisher. She moves well without the ball as well. She can make plays off the dribble at times too. Quick feet defensively who can stick with a ball-handler and contest drives to the rim. Very good rebounder.
