Although I didn’t get to watch every team, I was still treated to brilliant performances by teams and individuals from a variety of age groups.
With that in mind, here are some of the best wings from the tournament:
Keyera Roseby Keyera Roseby 5'10" | SF Liberty | 2024 State TX | 2024 | 5’10” Small Forward | NTX Lady Elite 2024 | Wylie East HS – Roseby showed true scoring versatility on Wednesday. She is willing to shoot the three and can score of the dribble or in the post. Her footwork in the paint was superb and some of the moves she utilized were next level. She was so good about going up strong with all her attempts. The Wylie East prospect’s defensive rebounding was noteworthy as well.
Taylor Wallace | 2024 | 5’10” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Hoop 10 United | Plainview HS – Wallace is one of the most fascinating prospects I’ve seen this summer. She is not overly fast or quick, yet she is methodical in her approach and understands how to produce. The Plainview wing plays at her own pace and is a terrific spot-up shooter from mid-range as well as from behind the arc. Her movement off the ball was good too. Furthermore, she turned back some shots on defense, displaying some two-way ability.
Aniyah Lewis | 2023 | 5’10” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Cypress Lakes HS – Lewis is a smooth scorer who can put the ball in the basket from inside as well as from the perimeter. She possesses good length and is dangerous when she gets downhill in transition. She also shot it well from three-point land when left open. Her opponents had no answer for her. On defense, Lewis wisely knew when to trap and helped force a lot of turnovers.
Charley Wilbur | 2024 | 5’8” Shooting Guard | Hoop 10 United | Wellington HS – Wilbur shot the ball very well in her final outing of the tournament. She is an excellent jump shooter from mid-range and hit some runners after penetrating off the dribble. The soon-to-be sophomore simply got to her spots and executed. Additionally, she is a capable three-point shooter from the catch.
Brooke Dial | 2023 | 5’9” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Flight 9 Elite Gravely | Parish Episcopal School – Dial has a lot in her bag. She is a solid shooter from the corners, a great slasher, and a brilliant defender. Her strength and speed were both evident on Tuesday. The 2023 wing moves her feet and stays in front of her opponent as if her life depended on it when defending on the perimeter. She also played passing lanes beautifully, making smart gambles that resulted in takeaways and fast break opportunities.
Ciara Harris | 2024 | 5’10” Small Forward | NTX Lady Elite 2024 | McKinney North HS – Harris was one of the most consistent three-and-D wings I saw during the event. The McKinney North forward was ready to fire whenever she got a decent look from deep and showed good mechanics on her jumper. Harris’s defense is currently the best part of her game. She can genuinely defend positions one through four. She sits down in a stance and is always engaged at that end.
Grace Riggs Grace Riggs 5'9" | SG Harker Heights | 2024 State TX | 2024 | 5’9” Shooting Guard | NTX Lady Elite 2024 | Harker Heights HS – Riggs is a mid-range assassin. Her isolation scoring is really something. The Harker Heights prospects gets to her spots and consistently puts the ball in the basket. Her stop-and-pop game was fantastic from inside the arc and her spot-up shooting from three-point land was good too. I thought she deserved more touches than she actually ended up getting because positive things always seemed to happen when the ball found her.
Ava Anderson | 2025 | 5’10” Small Forward | Lady Jets Elite (Robbins) | Conroe HS – Anderson possesses a good-looking shooting stroke from outside and can get her shots off in rhythm from the catch or off the bounce. She was physical at both ends and set strong screens for her teammates on Wednesday. The 2025 prospect put opponents on their backs several times with some gold old fashioned picks and set the tone for her squad.
