Here are some of the many players from the North Florida area who stood out during this prestigious tournament:
Andrea Seay (2022 ECU Teosha) was impressive at the tournament. Seay scored from every area on the court and finished with 25 points, including 4 three-pointers. A few times, Seay grabbed the rebound and went “coast to coast” for the layup. The 5’11 Seay showed great dribbling and passing skills. However, the impressive part of watching her performance was her basketball IQ. Seay displayed excellent instincts on the floor. After she makes a move, instinctively, the next move follows. Very likable and coachable as well.
Dyllan Hanna (Bartrum) played for the ECU Family 2022 team and was impressive during the tournament. Hannah had a good tournament and was impressive on both sides of the ball. Hanna showed that she could be the first option of an offense in one game, scoring in the post and passing to the open man when drawing double teams.
Emily McIntosh Emily McIntosh 5'11" | SF St. Augustine | 2022 State FL (2022 ECU Family) was solid during the event, and she displayed some moves that excited even the toughest old school fan in the audience. The 5’10 McIntosh continued to be special with the ball in her hand. McIntosh seemed to get into the lane at will and facilitate to her teammates. Her entry passes to the bigs were on point and allowed for several easy baskets.
Jazmine Jackson Jazmine Jackson 5'7" | PG Jackson HS | 2022 State FL (Andrew Jackson – ECU 2022 Family) put on some special performances for 2022 ECU Family at Run 4 the Roses, including her performance in the championship game. Jackson was matched up against some top-notch guards from around the country and did a good job defending them. Those top-notch guards found Jackson to be a tough assignment as she consistently drew fouls and got to the charity stripe. Jackson was also hard to stop in the open court and scored on some impressive drives to the goal. Plenty of college coaches were on hand for the 2022 match-ups. Jackson likely raised her stock in Run 4 the Roses.
Sophia Rueppell Sophia Rueppell 5'9" | PG Bishop Kenny | 2023 State FL – 2023 played on the ECU 2022 family team at Run for the Roses had a solid tournament. Rueppell dropped 20 points in one game and followed that up with five three-pointers in the next game. Rueppell has garnered a lot of attention at Run 4 the Roses, including an offer.
Ella Stakem (2024 Bolles) played for the ECU family 2024 team at Run 4 the Roses. Stakem shot impressively from behind the arc. At one point, she recorded 10 threes in 2 halves of play.
Eris Lester (2024- Orange Park) was a standout on the FBC Nightmares 2023 team. Her ability to put the ball in the basket was on full display. She was scoring off the dribble, nailed a mid-range jumper, and finished in the open court. In the game I watched at Run 4 the Roses, her defense was also on point.
Trista Brown Trista Brown 5'6" | SG Oakleaf | 2025 State FL (2025 University Christian) Brown played point and shooting guard on a 2023 team and showed that she will be a nice addition to University Christian. Brown made several threes, had some nice drives to the basket, and showed the ability to make big shots at key moments.
Alanna Tatum (2026 Mandarin Middle School) played in the 2024 division for ECU. Tatum had a 25- point game and nearly recorded double-digits in steals in the same game. Tatum led her team to the finals in their division. She was difficult to contend with in the open court, and her speed on the courts was unmatched.
